  • Patent number: 12335836
Abstract: Provisioning User Equipment (UE) Route Selection Policies (URSP) may be provided. A policy of a user equipment (UE) may be updated by a Policy Control Function (PCF). Then, the PCF may create a UE route selection policy (URSP) based on the updated UE policy. Next, the PCF may set a flag in in the URSP that may indicate to the UE that the URSP is applicable for new sessions and inapplicable for ongoing sessions. The PCF may then send the URSP to the UE, wherein the UE applies the URSP for new sessions.

  • Publication number: 20250133527
Abstract: Provided herein are techniques to facilitate network slice service continuity in a mobile network environment. In one example, a method may include for a registration request involving a user equipment (UE), obtaining, by an Access and Mobility Management Function (AMF), subscription information identifying primary network slices backup network slices to which the UE is subscribed in which each of the primary network slices and the backup network slices are active network slices capable of actively handling sessions for multiple UEs. The method may further include determining whether there is registration capacity for the UE with each of the network slices with which the UE is allowed registration. Based on the determining that there is registration capacity for registration of the UE, the AMF can transmit a registration response to the UE that indicating registration with the first primary network slice and the first backup network slice is accepted.

  • Publication number: 20250088952
Abstract: Systems and methods are provide to bring network capability awareness to steering of roaming (SoR). A home network includes a capabilities list of visited networks and their associated with the network capabilities. For SoR, he user equipment (UE) maintains a roaming partners list (RPL). The RPL provides a list of visited networks arranged in order of priority/preference (e.g., the first visited network in the RPL has first priority). The first visited network receives a registration request from the UE and relays a corresponding authentication request to the home network. The visited network in the RPL can be reordered when the UE requires a network capability not supported by the first visited network in the RPL, as indicated by the capabilities list. Depending on the implementation, the UE or the home network can make this decision to reorder the RPL.

  • Publication number: 20250048074
Abstract: A Radio Access Network (RAN) node configures a User Equipment (UE) to provide measurement results for private wireless networks in the neighborhood of the UE. The RAN node registers the UE with a computer network and provides location information about the UE to an Application Function (AF) connected to the computer network. The RAN node obtains a partial identifier that specifies a range of private wireless networks selected by the AF, and sends a request to the UE for measurements associated with the range of private wireless networks.

  • Patent number: 12213095
Abstract: A mobile network is operative to perform a quota validation procedure in relation to a maximum number of user equipments (UEs) permitted in a network slice. In one illustrative example, a control plane (CP) function of the mobile network may receive, from the UE, a message which indicates a registration request for registration and includes a slice ID of the network slice. The CP function may manage a registration procedure for assigning resources of the network slice to the UE. The CP function may alternatively manage the registration procedure to refrain from assigning the resources of the network slice to the UE, at least for a delay time period, based on identifying that an indication of the UE indicates an expected delay in use of service in the network slice. The indication may be included in the message and indicate the delay time period of the expected delay.

  • Patent number: 12207354
Abstract: In one illustrative example, a unified data management (UDM) of a mobile network is established in a UDM set with a plurality of private network UDMs instances of a plurality of private mobile networks. The UDM of the mobile network provides access to a plurality of subscription profiles associated with a plurality of subscribers of the mobile network, and each private network UDM instance provides access to a subset of the subscription profiles associated with a subset of the subscribers in the private mobile network. The UDM of the mobile network operates to communicate, in an authentication procedure, authentication data for authentication of a user equipment (UE) in the mobile network. After the authentication of the UE in the mobile network, the UDM operates to push authentication status information of the UE to the private network UDM instance of the private mobile network.
