  • Patent number: 12368618
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Techniques described herein provide for formulating single carrier waveforms into an orthogonal frequency-division multiple access (OFDMA) framework. To fit into the cyclic prefix OFDM (CP-OFDM) grid, a frequency domain fast Fourier transform (FFT) may be applied to the single carrier waveform, a bandwidth expansion and spectrum shaping may be applied to the output of the FFT and inverse FFT (IFFT) processing may be applied to the output of the bandwidth expansion and spectrum shaping. The output of the IFFT may then be represented in an OFDM compatible manner.

  • Publication number: 20240422751
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive, from a network entity, control signaling indicating a communication frame structure for communications between the UE and the network entity, where the communication frame structure includes a guard band between a first channel and a second channel in a frequency domain. The UE may receive a control message indicating a set of resources for a message between the UE and the network entity, where at least a subset of resources of the set of resources are included within the guard band. The UE may then communicate the message with the network entity within the set of resources and in accordance with a set of parameters that satisfy one or more conditions for performing communications within the guard band.

  • Publication number: 20240406941
Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide a method of wireless communication at a transmitting device, generally including selecting, based on one or more criteria, a scheme for generating a waveform that accounts for unavailable frequency resources within an allocation of resource elements (REs), obtaining a sequence of frequency domain symbols, generating the waveform by mapping at least some of the sequence of frequency domain symbols to REs within the allocation according to the selected scheme, and outputting the waveform for transmission.

  • Publication number: 20240333561
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A transmitting device may filter data tones (e.g., in edge subbands of an allocated frequency band) to achieve time domain windowing or shaping. Data tones of edge subbands of a configured frequency band may be filtered to shape a waveform such that it does not extend beyond symbol boundaries (e.g., does not result in emission leakage). In some examples, the transmitter may provide an indication of subband frequency domain shaping filters used to the receiver, to support demodulation on the receiver side. In some examples, the transmitter may indicate a demodulation reference signal (DMRS) comb structure (e.g., of the edge subbands) to the receiver, and the receiver may determine or estimate the filters of the subband frequency domain shaping based on the comb structure or the indication of the filters.

  • Publication number: 20240314765
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A scheduled entity transmits an indication of frequency resources that have different transmission requirements from those of other frequency resources in a smallest frequency domain scheduling unit that comprises the frequency resources for the scheduled entity. The scheduled entity receives, from a scheduling entity, signaling indicating at least one characteristic of how a channel is to be scheduled on the frequency resources from a scheduling entity. The scheduled entity communicates with the scheduling entity in accordance with the at least one characteristic.

  • Patent number: 12081301
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) and a network entity may support communication of a compressed channel state information (CSI) feedback. The UE and the network entity may use closed-loop feedback to improve beamforming tracking accuracy. For example, the UE may receive a CSI reference signal (CSI-RS) that is beamformed based on a channel estimate of a sounding reference signal (SRS) or a previous CSI feedback, or both. The UE may transmit a feedback message including compressed CSI that is generated through encoding a measurement of the CSI-RS. The compressed CSI may be generated based on a predicted channel estimate at the network entity, determined based on the channel estimate of the SRS or the previous CSI feedback.
