  • Publication number: 20230157858
Abstract: A scoliosis support system designed to relieve pain and improve spinal balance in scoliosis patients with different curve types is disclosed as a tension-based scoliosis orthosis, known as a scoliosis brace or bracing system, that comprises a back panel having a Y shape formed of three sections and a central portion, each section having a rigid de-rotational pad at the section's distal end, and the sections are joined to and/or at the central portion. This scoliosis brace includes inelastic straps adapted to be connected to the de-rotational pads and to be attached to a front of a lumbar belt adapted to be attached to the central portion of the back panel. The bracing system is adapted for multiple types and degrees of adjustment to accommodate different sizes and deformations, adapting the brace to be fitted and adjusted to multiple scoliosis curve types and patient characteristics.

  • Patent number: 11510802
Abstract: This invention relates to a three-dimensional scoliosis support system capable of providing pain relief and improvement of the spinal balance in scoliosis patients with different curve types. The disclosed bracing system is a tension-based scoliosis orthosis that comprises an rigid back panel. The three de-rotational supports pads of the back panel are connected to each other, providing facilitation or restriction of certain movements of human spine in the three different anatomical planes, i.e., coronal, sagittal and transverse planes. This scoliosis brace includes inelastic straps connected to the de-rotational supports/pads of the back panel, and the bracing system has different sizes and it can be fitted and adjusted accordingly with scoliosis curve type and patient characteristics.

  • Publication number: 20200246170
Abstract: Methods and apparatus are disclosed regarding orthopedic support devices adapted for stabilizing a part of a body of a wearer, in which an integrated pressure modulation mechanism is adapted to be coupled to at least one evacuable bladder containing molded beads. An exemplary orthopedic support device comprises an orthopedic walker adapted for stabilizing a foot of a wearer. The orthopedic walker comprises an integrated adjustable stabilization system comprising an integrated pressure modulation mechanism, a bladder, a plurality of molded beads inside the bladder, and a bladder coupling. The bladder coupling couples the bladder with the integrated pressure modulation mechanism.

  • Publication number: 20190015239
Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus regarding a Rotation & Abduction Device (“RAD”) for shoulder immobilization in treating shoulder instability, wherein the ability to maintain particular degrees of shoulder rotation and abduction is desired or necessary. An exemplary RAD shoulder immobilization system may include: a frame; a harness connected to the frame and including a waist support and a neck/shoulder strap; a sling connected to the frame and the harness; and a lining covering parts of the frame, the harness, and/or the sling. A method of treating a shoulder disorder may include: providing a shoulder immobilization system capable of shoulder rotation positioning adjustment and capable of shoulder abduction-adduction positioning adjustment; putting the shoulder immobilization system on a wearer; adjusting the shoulder immobilization system for shoulder rotation positioning; and adjusting the shoulder immobilization system for shoulder abduction-adduction positioning. Numerous other aspects are provided.

  • Publication number: 20080051685
Abstract: Described is a linkage for coupling an external fixtaor to a brace supporting an appendage. The linkage comprises, a pair of mounting members, a pair of first elongate members, a pair of position fixing members, a second pair of elongate members and a pair of quick release mechanisms. The mounting members are selectively coupleable to the external fixator. Each of the first elongate members is rotatably coupled to a corresponding one of the mounting members. Each of the position fixing members includes first and second locking channels for slidably receiving a corresponding one of the first elongate members in the first locking channel. Each of the second elongate members is slidably received in a corresponding one of the second locking channels. The quick release mechanisms couple the pair of the first elongate members to the pair of mounting members.
