    Abstract: A stream confinement apparatus which contains an EDM cooling stream in the work zone region includes a grooved element which is releasably clamped to the workpiece. The groove and workpiece form a fluid conduit which confines the stream of coolant to the work zone engulfing the EDM electrode minimizing electrode failure due to electrode overheating.
