  • Patent number: 6510137
Abstract: A method and system for configuring a CDMA telecommunications system having at least one sending entity and at least one receiving entity, each entity configured to transmit data on at least one physical channel (DPDCH) via a transport channel composite (CCTrCH) of multiple transport channels. At least one entity includes a data processing module configured to determine for each transport channel a first parameter (RMi) proportional to a rate matching ratio (RFi) and a second parameter representing a maximum physical rate (Ndata) and to transform for each of the transport channels a number of symbols before rate matching (Nk) into a number of symbols after rate matching (Nk+&Dgr;Nk), where the number of symbols after rate matching (Nk+&Dgr;Nk) is obtained approximately by multiplying the number of symbols before rate matching (Nk) by the rate matching ratio (RFi).

  • Publication number: 20020021718
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for the synchronization of at least one mobile station with a base station within a mobile telecommunication network. According to the invention, it is proposed to intensify the synchronization signal at regular intervals during a short time interval called reinforced synchronization interval or RSI interval. The cycle of activity of the synchronization channel of the base station is thus increased on a time interval corresponding to the reinforced synchronization interval. This will reduce the effective time of acquisition of the synchronization signal and thereby reduce the size or number of time windows needed for this acquisition. The cycle of activity of the synchronization channel is increased by increasing the number of synchronization bursts during the RSI interval. Application to UMTS-FDD type third-generation telecommunication networks.

  • Publication number: 20020006156
Abstract: The present invention relates to a spread spectrum modulation using discontinuous spreading codes. The spectrum spreading codes used are sequences of chips wherein at least one chip has the value 0. These codes are called discontinuous spreading codes. Each of the chips with value 0 in the discontinuous spreading code generates a transmit power approaching zero for the corresponding transmitted signal.

  • Patent number: 6305588
Abstract: A releasable coupling for a suspension stud on a first face wall, especially of a mobile telephone. The coupling includes an orifice made in the wall and a device for axial retention of the stud, a coupling end of which is accommodated in the orifice in order to perform the coupling. The retention device includes a rod which passes through the orifice and is provided at its free end with a device for bearing axially on the perimeter of the orifice. The retention device can move, along a coupling path, between a coupling position in which the bearing device is applied against the wall and an uncoupled position in which the axial bearing device is disengaged from the wall. A device is furthermore provided for immobilizing the retention device with respect to the wall in its coupling position.

  • Publication number: 20010021229
Abstract: The subject of this invention is a method for matching transport channels included within a composite channel. Each transport channel transmits at least one data symbol (s). According to the invention, each symbol (s) to be transmitted is amplified by a gain (Gi) specific to the transport channel (i) from which said symbol (s) originates, in order to balance the Eb/I ratios between the different transport channels on the composite channel.
