  • Patent number: 4319411
Abstract: In the field of grain ventilation, grain bins are constructed to allow air circulation from a plenum chamber through the grain floor and the grain to an exhaust. The invention relates to a panel for improving grain bin design so as to more effectively practice grain ventilation. An aspirating panel is formed to include a cylindrically shaped rib along both its longer sides. In constructing a grain bin floor, sidewall, or roof, panels are fastened together such that a slit remains between the ribs of adjacent panels. The slit allows air freely to pass through. In the case of a sidewall or roof, the panel design allows the wind to aspirate air from inside the grain bin by creating low pressure regions near the slits which enhance air exhaustion.

  • Patent number: 4292899
Abstract: Disclosed here is a plate-like element, preferably of sheet metal, used in pairs, for affixation to the leading stringer of a fork-lift pallet to protect the stringer against damage by the fork-lift fork, each element being cut out to provide an opening for register with the fork tine-receiving opening in the stringer.

  • Patent number: 4256029
Abstract: A push-pull air movement apparatus for enhancing the movement of air through grain stored within the apparatus including a grain storage bin, an intake fan for pushing air through the grain and an exhaust fan. The intake fan is connected to the bin and is in fluid communication with the stored grain. An exhaust fan is also provided and is connected to the bin for pulling and exhausting at least as much air volume from the stored grain as the intake fan means inserts.

  • Patent number: 4037527
Abstract: Grain drying apparatus of a type having a grain bin having a grain receiving chamber, a plenum chamber for receiving air from an air circulating mechanism, and a perforated floor separating the plenum chamber from the grain receiving chamber. An opening in the side wall of the grain bin is located partially above and partially below the perforated floor in order to eliminate the cold spot due to a lack of air flow normally found above grain drying fans. An annular flanged connection device is provided for facilitating easy connection and disconnection of the air circulating mechanism to and from the grain bin.

  • Patent number: 4004352
Abstract: A grain bin having a roof, a perforated floor, a grain storage chamber above the floor, a plenum chamber below the floor and a fan for forcing air into the plenum chamber, through the floor and ultimately through the grain storage chamber. A ventilation structure is attached to the roof of the bin in direct communication with the top of the grain storage chamber and has a plurality of turbine shaped blades fixed together and mounted for free-spinning rotation with respect to the roof.

  • Patent number: 3991913
Abstract: A door for a grain bin having a container associated therewith which is adapted to be connected to a grain bin and extended into the grain storing portion of the grain bin. An opening is disposed in a lower portion of a rear wall of the container and a front wall of the container leading to the outside of the grain bin is removable and is optionally transparent. A grain port in the top rear wall of the container has a sliding gate associated therewith for opening or closing the grain port or metering grain through the grain port. An extension spout is formed on the front bottom of the container for selectively extending the bottom portion of the container, thereby facilitating a selectively controlled flow of grain out of the grain bin.
