  • Patent number: 8322363
Abstract: A fuel tank system for a vehicle (1) such as a tractor comprises a first compartment (28) and a second compartment (29) located on a first side of the vehicle. A third compartment (8) is located on a second side of the vehicle opposite the first side and a first pipe (10) is connected between an aperture (12) in the first compartment and an aperture (14) in the third compartment, wherein the first pipe (10) includes a one-way valve (16) which allows fuel to flow from the third compartment (8) to the first compartment (28). A second pipe (20) is connected between an aperture (22) in the second compartment (29) and a junction (25) in the first pipe (10). The junction (25) is intermediate the one-way valve (16) and the third compartment (8) allowing fuel to flow to the third compartment (8) from the second compartment (29).

  • Patent number: 7600574
Abstract: A tractor front hitch 10 is provided for mounting an implement on the front of a tractor. The hitch has socket 13 mounted for pivotal movement relative to the tractor, a pair of lower implement support links 12 which form a sub-assembly received in the socket 13, and one or more upper implement support links 14 supported from the tractor. The lower link sub-assembly 12 is moveable relative to the socket 13 between a coupling position, in which the lower link sub-assembly is at least partly withdrawable from the socket to facilitate coupling of the implement to the lower links, and a locked implement operative position in which the lower link sub-assembly 12 is locked in the socket 13. The lower link sub-assembly 12 may be moved fore and aft, and side to side relative to the socket 13 and is also rotatable in the general plane of the socket to facilitate coupling when in the coupling position.

  • Publication number: 20080053740
Abstract: A vehicle steer by wire system which has a steering wheel for setting a desired turn angle of a vehicle wheel, a steering wheel turn sensor for sensing the desired turn angle, a hydraulic steering actuator for turning the wheel, a wheel turn sensor for sensing the current wheel turn angle and a control unit for receiving the desired turn angle and current wheel turn angle signals. An electronically controlled steering actuator control valve means is provided for supplying pressurized fluid to the steering actuator via a steering circuit in response to signals from the control unit to turn the wheel to the desired turn angle. A hydraulic motor connected with the steering wheel is provided to provide steering feedback to the steering wheel via a feedback circuit which includes an electrically controlled hydraulic feedback control valve means which directs fluid to and from the hydraulic motor in response to the signals from the control unit to generate the steering feedback.

  • Publication number: 20080053742
Abstract: A vehicle system has a steering circuit which includes a steering actuator supplied with pressurize fluid from a pressure source to turn an associated vehicle wheel to the left or right in response to the movement of the steering wheel. A feedback circuit is provided which includes a steering motor connected with the steering wheel and supplied with pressurized fluid via an electronically controlled feedback control valve means in response to signals received from a control unit to generate a steering feedback force acting on the steering wheel.

  • Publication number: 20060016609
Abstract: A system for controlling a ground engaging implement (10) mounted on a tractor (11) via a mounting linkage (12,13), the system has a sensing system (15 to 30) for providing a signal representative of only the horizontal component (Dx) of the forces (D) applied to the implement (10) by the ground thereby eliminating the effect of the weight of the implement from the sensed signal. A positioning means (32) is provided for controlling the height of the mounting linkage (12,13) relative to the tractor and a control means (33) which receives signals from the sensing system and from the tractor operator (35,36) as to the desired operating condition of the implement. The control means (33) compares these signals to provide an output signal to the positioning means (32) to adjust the working position of the implement (10) to meet the desired operating condition of the implement.
