Patent number: 12381765Abstract: A method for transmitting binary data using a M-ASK constellation divided into M/2 sets of two symbols is disclosed. Each set of index i comprises the ith and ith+M/2 symbols of the constellation and is associated with a probability pi of transmitting the first symbol of the set. First, m?1 bits are obtained from an equiprobable binary source where m=log2M. A binary source is then selected in a plurality of binary sources responsive to said m?1 bits, each binary source of index i being associated with a probability of outputting a bit zero equal to pi. A symbol of the M-ASK constellation is obtained that is associated with the binary word formed by the m?1 bits as less significant bits and a bit obtained from the selected source as most significant bit. The symbol is finally transmitted to a receiver over a communication channel.Type: GrantFiled: January 13, 2022Date of Patent: August 5, 2025Assignee: MITSUBISHI ELECTRIC CORPORATIONInventors: Vincent Corlay, Nicolas Gresset

Publication number: 20250167916Abstract: A method is for transmitting data using a constellation with M=2m symbols, divided in N sub-constellations, N and M being integers, where for any symbol in a reference sub-constellation, there is a symbol in each of the other sub-constellations with a same probability value. The method comprises: obtaining from a source of data, k groups of m?log2(N) shaping bits wherein each group of m?log2(N) shaping bits identifies one symbol xj in the reference sub-constellation, j?[1;k]; applying a systematic error correcting code on said k groups of m?log2(N) shaping bits to output one group of log2(N) parity bits per each symbol xj; for each symbol xj, identifying a sub-constellation using at least the group of log2(N) parity bits and selecting a symbol identified by said m?log2(N) shaping bits in said identified sub-constellation; and transmitting each of said k selected symbols to a receiver over a communication channel.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 2, 2022Publication date: May 22, 2025Applicant: MITSUBISHI ELECTRIC CORPORATIONInventors: VINCENT CORLAY, CRISTINA CIOCHINA-DUCHESNE

Publication number: 20250071588Abstract: A user equipment for implementing a control in a set of user equipments is provided with a model improvement module. Said model improvement module is dedicated to updating a prediction model that is used for inferring state predictions. The model improvement module alternates between a training mode where it determines a new prediction model to be implemented next, and an idle mode. A trade-off is obtained between limited resource requirement and accuracy of a state knowledge. In the idle mode, the model improvement module may assess a validity of the prediction model currently used.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 11, 2022Publication date: February 27, 2025Applicant: MITSUBISHI ELECTRIC CORPORATIONInventors: VINCENT CORLAY, ARNAUD BOUTTIER
