  • Patent number: 7120391
Abstract: A field transmitter F, a control device B is in the form of a separately portable unit linked to a field transmitter S1 by radio over short ranges. This eliminates the need to make a direct visit to an inaccessible field transmitter S1 for control purposes. In addition, one control device B can be used to control a plurality of field transmitters S1, S2, S3, A1, A2 by radio. In situ control, which is normally permanently integrated into the field transmitters S1, S2, S3, A1, A2, can be dispensed with.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: July 6, 2001
Date of Patent: October 10, 2006
Assignee: Endress + Hauser GmbH + Co.
Inventors: Florian Stengele, Michael Krause, Wolfram Lütke, Vincent de Groot

  • Patent number: 6278960
Abstract: In an assembly for remote control and/or remote operation of a field device by a controller via a field bus a program code describing the functionality of this device is stored in the field device. The field device contains a processor in which the program code is implementable. The controller is equipped with a run-time environment in which the program code can be run following transfer from the field device to the controller via the field bus. The remote control and/or remote operation of the field device is implementable by transferring field device parameters via the field bus in the run-time environment.
