  • Publication number: 20130077859
Abstract: In accordance with an exemplary embodiment, a method is provided to generate a color look up table for multiple images. The method includes selecting color points from a first image. The first color points comprise weak image texture. The method also includes identifying feature points in a spatial neighborhood of each first color point. Additionally, the method includes identifying feature points from a second image. The second feature points correspond to the first feature points. The method also includes determining a color points in the second image. The second color points correspond to the first color points, and are determined using a spatial interpolation of the first plurality of color points from the first plurality of feature points and then applying the obtained spatial interpolation to the second plurality of feature points. Further, the method includes generating the color lookup table.

  • Patent number: 8184523
Abstract: An Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) receiver that employs N second-order phase-lock loops sharing a common integrator (where N is the number of pilots in the system). The N second order phase-lock loops track out independent pilot phase rotations to facilitate the constructive averaging of the pilots' phase information. At the same time, by sharing a common integrator, the OFDM receiver takes advantage of noise averaging over multiple pilots to obtain a cleaner frequency offset estimation. The OFDM receiver may also compensate for FFT window drift by calculating a phase difference between a selected pair of pilots and tracking the rate of change of the calculated phase difference over time. The calculated phase difference is used to control the position of an upstream FFT window after a predetermined phase difference threshold is exceeded. The tracked rate of change is used to continuously adjust the phase of downstream equalizer taps.

  • Patent number: 7953191
Abstract: The gain control method for the RF and IF amplification stages of a bursty data frame reception system enables, following a step for evaluating the received signal strength, the gain adjustment step of the RF amplification stage to be temporarily deferred until a frame structure symbol is received, during which the gain adjustment step of the IF amplification stage takes place simultaneously with that of the RF gain, while retaining an overall gain linearly dependent on the input signal strength.

  • Patent number: 7760616
Abstract: The disclosed embodiments relate to exploiting circuitry that exists in a typical Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) receiver to find the phase of a complex number corresponding to an input signal without implementing additional costly circuitry or employing a relatively slow inverse tangent look-up table. The magnitude of the complex number is normalized and processed through a closed loop to produce an output proportional to the phase of the complex number.

  • Patent number: 7522535
Abstract: Method of adjustment of a receiver of signals transmitted in bursts in a system where the communications are set up within the context of successive frames comprising slots allocatable to the transmitters for their communications with the receivers. The adjustment of at least one characteristic of the receiver allows it to adapt upon the arrival of the bursts, by taking account of at least one reinitialization parameter for a first burst or adjustment parameter computed by a computation unit (4) from the preamble of the burst currently being received. At least one specified adjustment parameter is determined by a computation unit (4), for a new burst of a communication, by taking into account the part of the signal corresponding to the payload of the burst previously received for this communication, if the new is separated from this previously received burst only by a time which is less than a silence threshold value.

  • Patent number: 7468962
Abstract: The disclosed embodiments relate to a technique for selecting one of several antennas or channels in a receiver based on the quality of the channel response at each of the antennas in a multicarrier system employing convolutional forward error-correction coding. Channel estimates are computed for each subcarrier and monotonic weights are assigned to each subcarrier based on the relative strength of the channel response for that subcarrier. The monotonic weights are mapped to each bit in a symbol for each subcarrier and bits are de-interleaved, if needed. A sliding window evaluation is performed to determine an overall channel quality metric for each channel. The antenna or channel having the highest overall CQM is selected to receive data.

  • Patent number: 7401134
Abstract: A system for processing data packets comprising a plurality of data processing blocks and a controller, which allows the configuration parameters used in processing the data blocks to be updated in each data processing blocks at the data packet boundary. The present invention involves a system that utilizes a handshaking method for synchronously exchanging data between data processing blocks, wherein the data processing blocks update configuration parameters based on the type of networking standard used. Each data processing block identifies a first data block in the data packet and transmits a first data signal along with a first output data block of the data packet, wherein the block updates the configuration parameters from the controller only when the first data signal is present. In this manner, the first data signal, which is indicative of the data packet boundary, is propagated along the sequence of data processing blocks.
