  • Publication number: 20230353992
Abstract: Aspects relate to sidelink transmissions directed towards vehicle-to-everything (V2X) applications. A UE may determine an application-layer capability of the UE in which the application-layer capability corresponds to a V2X application implemented on the UE, and transmit an announcement including an indication of the application-layer capability via a transceiver. A UE may also receive an announcement via a transceiver that includes an indication of an application-layer capability corresponding to a second UE in which the application-layer capability corresponds to a V2X application implemented on the second UE, and engage with the second UE via the V2X application.

  • Patent number: 11765573
Abstract: A configuration to allow for the suppression or delay of the changing of an ID of a first wireless device to maintain a connection with another wireless device. The apparatus establishes a connection with a second wireless device using a side link. An ID of a first wireless device is provided to the second wireless device. The apparatus determines to change the ID of the first wireless device based on a predetermined schedule. The apparatus initiates a suppression to change of the ID of the first wireless device to maintain the connection with the second wireless device.

  • Publication number: 20220418037
Abstract: Apparatus, methods, and computer-readable media for facilitating identifier-based transport types of a GNLP are disclosed herein. An example method for wireless communication at a transmitting UE includes receiving a message based on a GNLP, the message including a GNLP header. The example method also includes populating the GNLP header to indicate that the message is associated with a single-hop transport type, the single-hop transport type including a unicast message, a groupcast message, or a broadcast message. The example method also includes transmitting the message via sidelink to a receiving UE. An example method for wireless communication at a receiving UE includes receiving, from a transmitting UE, a message via sidelink, the message based on a GNLP and including a GNLP header. The example method also includes using the GNLP header to determine that the message is associated with a single-hop transport type.

  • Publication number: 20220417827
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may be configured for contention-based forwarding (CBF) to relay a message toward a destination. The UE may receive signaling indicating a configuration for CBF. The CBF configuration may be associated with a maximum communication range for CBF signaling. The UE may receive a message to relay toward the destination using CBF. The message may include a first indication of a dynamic communication range for the CBF which may be less than or equal to the maximum communication range. The UE may determine a timer value to retransmit the message based on the dynamic communication range. When a timer set to the timer value expires, the UE may retransmit the message to nearby stations and include an indication of the dynamic communication range with the message.

  • Patent number: 11516733
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A user equipment (UE) may establish connectivity to a local area network using cellular radio access technology (RAT). The UE may establish a signaling radio link with a cellular access node (AN) via a cellular RAT. The UE may transmit a connectivity request to a network node via the signaling radio link. The connectivity request may specify a connectivity type for establishing connectivity to a LAN. Based at least in part on an acceptance of the connectivity request, the UE may establish a data radio link with the cellular AN. In an example, the acceptance of the connectivity request may include at least one parameter for configuring the connectivity to the LAN. The UE may then establish a data flow for exchanging data link layer packets with the LAN via the data radio link.

  • Patent number: 11470666
Abstract: A user equipment (UE) may experience poor communication with a network access device, and the network access device may configure the UE to connect to, and route communications through, one or more relay nodes (e.g., which may be another UE, a network operator-deployed relay, etc.). Techniques are described whereby these relay nodes may autonomously form a wireless backhaul network. Sequential implementations are considered such that the size of the wireless backhaul network may scale efficiently. In some examples, the wireless backhaul network may form by reusing existing connectivity establishment procedures. Importantly, the proposed techniques enable a relay to possess (e.g., be configured with) functionality that may traditionally be associated with a UE, base station, and gateway. Such multi-faceted functionality may enable the described sequential formation of wireless backhaul networks with tree topology.

  • Publication number: 20220086730
Abstract: Mechanisms for performing unicast packet addressing and communication, e.g., in a C-V2X sidelink communication scenario, are provided. In one aspect, a method for wireless communication performed by a first wireless communication device includes receiving a source identifier associated with a second wireless communication device, and determining, based on the source identifier associated with the second wireless communication device and a deterministic function, a destination identifier. The destination identifier is different from the source identifier. The method further includes generating a packet comprising the destination identifier, where the destination identifier indicates a unicast packet, and transmitting the unicast packet to the second wireless communication device.

  • Patent number: 11096455
Abstract: A wearable band of a size and length suitable to be positioned around a limb, or other body part, of a user, said band comprising a flexible bistable strip movable between a first state, in which it is substantially axially straight, and a second, ring-like state, and having a yield point, said band being configured such that generally radial application of pressure exceeding said yield point to an end of said hand causes it to move, under its own tension, from said first state to said second state, wherein a portion of the length of said bistable strip at a free end thereof has a progressively reducing width and/or thickness such that the tensile force in said portion, when said band is in said first configuration, gradually lessens along said portion toward said free end.

  • Patent number: 11089519
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A user equipment (UE) may establish a packet data network (PDN)-connectivity session to a PDN using a cellular radio access technology (RAT) and migrate the PDN-connectivity session from a source access node (AN) to a target AN. Migration may initiate when a decision to perform a handover is made. The target AN may receive a network address and information about a first data radio link established between the UE and source AN. The target AN may establish a second data radio link with the UE based at least in part on the first data radio link information, and may transmit, to the PDN, a path update including the network address and an updated path via the target AN. In some cases, the target AN may forward packets between the UE and the PDN via the second data radio link.

  • Patent number: 11044639
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A serving base station may determine a handover loss metric associated with a UE that is a candidate for handover. The handover loss metric may be based on connection parameters associated with the serving base station and a target base station, respectively. The serving base station may identify, based on the handover loss metric, a type of handover procedure to perform. The serving base station may perform the handover procedure of the UE to the target base station according to the identified handover type.

  • Patent number: 10880198
Abstract: In an aspect of the disclosure, a method, a computer-readable medium, and an apparatus are provided. The apparatus may be a first node. The first node receives a first packet from a second node. The first node determines that the first packet is a query packet requesting a response packet and associated with a first transaction. The first node determines that the first node is a first next hop node associated with the first packet. The first node determines that the query packet includes an indication for a local exploration. The first node delays further routing the first packet.

  • Patent number: 10660033
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices are described for wireless communication at a UE. A user equipment (UE) may perform an initial access procedure to establish a connection with a serving cell. The UE may then arrange a regular transmission schedule with the serving cell including a discontinuous transmission (DTX) cycle and an acknowledgement schedule. The UE may enter a low power mode and refrain from any transmission during the a sleep interval of the DTX cycle. The UE may then wake up and transmit a message to the serving cell after the sleep interval without performing another access procedure. The UE may perform another access procedure to transmit at times not covered by the regular transmission schedule. For example, if an acknowledgement (ACK) for the message isn't received, the UE may perform another access procedure for retransmission.
