    Abstract: A gate for controlling oncoming traffic on a roadway (e.g. a highway). The gate comprises an arm movable between an extended position in which the arm extends into a given portion of the roadway to inform the oncoming traffic that the given portion of the roadway is closed and a retracted position in which the arm does not extend into the given portion of the roadway and thus leaves open the given portion of the roadway for the oncoming traffic. The gate also comprises a control system comprising an actuator and configured to support the arm and move the arm between the extended position and the retracted position. The arm may be quite long and vertically wide to close more of the roadway and be clearly visible to the oncoming traffic, while the gate may be crash-tested (i.e., compliant with crash-testing criteria), the control system may be compact, and the gate may be reusable and easily repairable if crashed into.

The method also comprises the transmission to the regulator of other width-modulated pulses (PWM2) exhibiting a specific duty ratio (EXOF_R) which is less than the first reference duty ratio (DC1) and ties between a low duty ratio (DCL) and a high duty ratio (DCH), and the detection of these other pulses by the regulator, in a first step, and the generation of an opening signal (EXOF) for a circuit for excitation of the alternator, in a second step, following this latter detection.

The interface receives as input a plurality of signals which are representative of the excitation current. The interface including a device capable of selecting a signal which is representative, from amongst the plurality of representative signals, of the method for applying different forms of processing to the representative signal selected, and a second device for selection of processing to be applied to the representative signal. The representative signal, and the processing to be applied, being selected according to a program provided to the programmable signal interface.

    Abstract: A method for protection of an energy storage source (2), in particular a battery of a motor vehicle, against possible overloading caused by prolonged application of an electric voltage to the energy storage source, this voltage being generated at least partially by a rotary electric machine (1) such as an alternator or an alternator-starter, the method comprising the following steps: permitting measurement of a charge level of the energy storage source, this charge level being represented for example by a voltage measured at the terminals of the energy storage source or a PWM signal, while the rotary electric machine is functioning in a predetermined functioning mode, and electric excitation is being applied to it; comparing a value (SENSE) of this measurement with a reference value (Max_SP); if the value measured for the energy storage source is greater than the reference value, interrupting the excitation applied to the rotary electric machine.
