Abstract: An improved structure of three-dimensional (3D) spectacles is provided, including a spectacle frame on which an RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) chip is mounted. The 3D spectacles are specifically for use in a 3D auditorium or 3D theater and are composed of a frame, lenses, and temples. The RFID chip is combined with the spectacle frame by being embedded in the frame or attached to a surface of the frame. With the RFID chip so mounted, a theater worker may use a reader to identify if a specific pair of 3D spectacles has already been sanitized. Also, the 3D spectacles can help in entrance and exit management, ticketing management, distribution of souvenirs, and toilet guiding service. In file-out, a reader may be used to confirm the returning of 3D spectacles. In this way, the theater service quality can be significantly improved.

Abstract: The invention provides an improved recommender system that includes a client device or service provider server, a trusted function handler module and a recommender module. The recommender system functions to protect the privacy of user rating information maintained by the node (i.e., client device/server) by having the node transform the user rating information using a specific function selected by the function handler and then provide the transformed user rating information to the recommender module. In this way, privacy of the user rating information is maintained because the original user rating information will be unknown to a recommender module.

In the method, at the broker entity 11, following receipt of a request for processed data from the application node 12, determining the node to provide the data to be processed, generating a data key for the data-providing node 13, generating a data-processing algorithm for processing the data in dependence upon the request, sending the data key to the data-providing node 13, and sending the data key and data-processing algorithm to a remote data-processing entity 15. At the data-providing node 13, encrypting the data using the data key and sending the encrypted data to the data-processing entity 15.

The owner initiates an URI assignment request to the user device and obtains the device credentials via the communication channel (141). The owner provides the credentials to the web server via a communication channel (121). The web server sends the credentials to the user device which compares the credentials with its memory (110a) and replies with the URI status. The web server sends the URI assignment to the user device which accepts and confirms back to the web server which sends a locking message to the user device. The owner can revoke the URI using a password that is verified by the user device, which deletes the URI. An advantage is that the owner can acquire the URI without being the owner of domain.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a nodes and methods for use in a Universal Plug and Play (UPnP) system to provide support for both UPnP security and mobility of security aware UPnP nodes. A gateway is arranged to provide remote access to a UPnP network to remote UPnP nodes via the gateway. The gateway comprises means for creating a virtual UPnP node for emulating internal presence of a remote UPnP node on the UPnP network. The virtual UPnP node is arranged to obtain and store security information associated with the remote UPnP node. The security information specifies how the remote UPnP node is authorized to interact with other UPnP nodes in the UPnP network. The security information may be used to filter messages from the UPnP network to the remote UPnP node.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for providing connectivity with a public communication services network (204) for a mobile terminal (200). A temporary connectivity identity and associated security parameters are obtained from the network (2:1) and loaded into the mobile terminal from a connectivity providing unit (202) over a local communication link (2:2). When the mobile terminal (2:3) later sends an access request to the network including the temporary connectivity identity, the mobile terminal is registered with the network based on the temporary connectivity identity and associated security parameters. If the network can validate the temporary connectivity identity by means of the associated security parameters (2:5), a connection can be set up with the mobile terminal (2:6) for communication services in the network.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a UDDI server and method in a UDDI server for mediating Web services provided by a number of service providers to a number of service requesters. The UDDI server according to the present invention is adapted to provide support for taking dynamic quality of service into account in the mediation of Web services. The UDDI server comprises a Web service register which includes data sets for storing QoS status information. The QoS status information is information on the current QoS that an associated Web service can offer to a service requester. The QoS status information stored in the data sets is updated periodically based on dynamic service status information received from the service providers. The UDDI server may optionally include a decision making function for selecting a Web service that satisfy a set of QoS requirements of a service requester.

Abstract: The present disclosure includes a cylindrical or other suitably shaped filter container for insertion into a user's nares to filter inhaled air to remove airborne items. The filter container has two open ends forming a container surrounding filter material. In a currently preferred embodiment of the present invention, polypropylene may be used to form the container or tube, other suitable material such as rubber or other softer material may also be used. The present disclosure further includes a respiration mask having a peripheral seal composed of treated and fluffed polypropylene fibers. An edge seal according to the present disclosure lowers the respiratory resistance of a mask and improves the filtration efficiency. Treated, fluffed, polypropylene may also be used to form a respiration mask, such a mask may also include an edge seal to improve filtration and comfort.
