  • Publication number: 20080104542
Abstract: Records in databases or unstructured files are enriched with metadata and are indexed for retrieval by a search engine. In response to a search request, a graphical user interface (GUI) control based on the metadata associated with the search hits is constructed and displayed with the search results in a standard view. Selection of a metadata value via the GUI control filters the previously matched records down to those matching the value selected via the GUI control. The metadata in the search results is arranged in a tabular view which is embedded in the display of search results and rendered invisible until selected by the user. Reports can be constructed from an identifier each returned record set for presenting, analyzing and modifying the data, and for generating further reports.

  • Patent number: 7343015
Abstract: A method and system is disclosed for transmitting two related channels of signals through the air. A first channel of signals is modulated with a first carrier frequency, and a second channel of signals is modulated with a second carrier frequency. The modulated first channel of signals and the second channel of signals are then combined through a high isolation combiner. Thereafter, the combined signals are transmitted toward a receiver system. After receiving the transmitted signals, the first channel and the second channel of signals are regenerated in the receiver system by separating one from the other.

  • Publication number: 20070158492
Abstract: A method and apparatus for guiding a vehicle to intercept a target is described. The method iteratively estimates a time-to-go until target intercept and modifies an acceleration command based upon the revised time-to-go estimate. The time-to-go estimate depends upon the position, the velocity, and the actual or real time acceleration of both the vehicle and the target. By more accurately estimating the time-to-go, the method is especially useful for applications employing a warhead designed to detonate in close proximity to the target. The method may also be used in vehicle accident avoidance and vehicle guidance applications.

  • Publication number: 20060264115
Abstract: An electrical connector for use, for example, at the end of an audio visual (A/V) system cable. The connector includes a body from which extends a sleeve for engaging a corresponding feature of another electrical connector. The sleeve of the electrical connector of the present invention forms a slot having a first portion and a second portion that intersect with each other, the first slot portion having an orientation that varies from the orientation of the second slot portion. In one embodiment, the connector includes a cylindrical sleeve, and the slot first portion extends from the distal end of the sleeve parallel to the connector's central axis and intersects the slot second portion at a right angle, meaning that in combination the first slot-portion and the second slot portion define a clip that extends along the periphery of the sleeve.

  • Patent number: 7130600
Abstract: Apparatus, and an associated method, for facilitating personalization of a weather band radio that receives SAME messages broadcast by the NWR system. Alphanumeric indicators of locations are displayed upon a user display element. And, a listener of the radio enters, by way of a user input actuator, selection of selected geographical areas, identified by the alphanumeric indicators. The selected alphanumeric location is used to form a six-digit location code defined by the Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS). And, the code so-formed is used by the weather band radio, selectably to alert weather anomalies broadcast by the NWR system within the selected geographical area of interest.

  • Patent number: 7101250
Abstract: Provided is a transmitter that includes a channel selector for modifying an operating frequency of a radio-controlled toy. The transmitter has a channel selection switch that enables a user to pick a channel from a set of predefined channels. The selected channel is then transferred to the toy. For example, a microcontroller unit within the transmitter may be used to detect the selected channel. The toy is placed in contact with the transmitter and the transmitter's microcontroller unit communicates the channel to a microcontroller unit inside the toy. The toy's microcontroller stores the channel in a memory in the toy. The toy then tunes to the stored frequency to receive control signals from the transmitter.

  • Patent number: 6658115
Abstract: A method and apparatus for high fidelity duplexing, local transmission and reception of audio-signals transmitted from sources such as stereos, televisions, or musical instruments is taught. According to these teachings, high fidelity wireless stereophonic transmission system having a plurality of audio channels are realized. An oscillator is electrically connected to the first audio channel to provide a first carrier frequency upon which the data of the first audio channel is imposed. The first carrier frequency is then combined with a second audio channel's data forming a composite signal. The composite signal is then imposed on signal generated by a second oscillator. This second oscillator provides a carrier frequency for a frequency modulated (FM) transmitter. The signal from the FM transmitter is received by a receiver and the respective signal's of the two audio channels are demodulated and used to drive speakers.

  • Publication number: 20030072318
Abstract: The present invention provides a system and method for packet forwarding. The packet forwarding improves the performance of common network security applications. The system includes an operating system kernel, a plurality of packet forwarding paths, and a packet classifier. The method includes means for receiving network packets, means for receiving state information from a plurality of external agents, means for selecting a forwarding path from a plurality of forwarding paths based on the state information, and means for transmitting packets.

  • Patent number: 6263194
Abstract: An apparatus and method to use the temperature of a transmitting radio to prevent transmission of radio waves outside of an assigned frequency band. More specifically, if a transmitter exceeds a specified temperature the transmitter will be automatically disabled to prevent temperature caused frequency shifts outside the approved frequency transmission band for the transmitter. The transmitter has a temperature sensor that senses temperature and compare the operating temperature against a preselected temperature limit. It the operating temperature either is too hot or too cold the transmitter will be disabled and will not transmit until the temperature falls or rises to an acceptable level.

  • Patent number: 6001392
Abstract: The present invention relates generally to a mixture of coated and non-coated sulfonic acid cation exchange resins (Amberlite IR69) cross-linked with about 8% divinyl benzene onto which dextromethorphan has been loaded. About 30% of the drug/resin complexes are coated with a mixture of ethyl cellulose or ethyl cellulose latexes with plasticizers and water dispersible polymers such as SURELEASE. The coating level is about 50% w/w drug. Coated and uncoated drug/resin complexes are loaded with drug to about 45% by weight drug/resin complex. The ratio of coated and uncoated drug/resin complexes is about 55/45. The particle sizes of the coated and uncoated drug/resin complexes is about 20 to about 300 and about 20 to about 250 microns, respectively.
