    Abstract: Absorbent articles incorporating an absorbent structure that includes an absorbent core having an upper surface and a lower surface, a tissue layer having an upper surface and a lower surface, and a self-cross-linking binder, wherein the lower surface of the first absorbent core is juxtaposed to the upper surface of the tissue and the binder applied to the lower surface of the tissue layer such that the binder penetrates through the tissue to the absorbent core.
