  • Patent number: 8358990
Abstract: A method is provided for transmitting a digital signal via n transmit antennas, wherein n is strictly greater than 2. The method includes combining with a source data vector n vectors to be transmitted respectively by each of the transmit antennas by a coding matrix <I>M</I> with a yield equal to 1, using reference symbols known to at least one receiver whereby it is able to estimate at least three transmission channels corresponding respectively to each of the transmit antennas. The coding matrix <I>M</I> applies a mathematical transformation to the reference symbols prior to the transmission thereof.

  • Patent number: 7933564
Abstract: An embodiment of invention relates to a method for the transmission of a signal formed by vectors, each vector comprising N source symbols to be transmitted, using M transmission antennas, wherein M is greater than or equal to 2. The method comprises the following steps: linearly precoding the signal using a matrix product of a source matrix formed by vectors that are organized in successive lines by a linear precoding matrix, delivering a precoded matrix; and successively transmitting precoded vectors corresponding to columns of said precoded matrix, the M symbols of each precoded vector being distributed to the M antennas.

  • Patent number: 7924945
Abstract: The disclosure relates to a method for receiving a data signal by NR receiving antennas. The data signal undergoes, before transmission, a channel coding and is transmitted on NT antennas each transmitting a portion of this signal. Upon reception the transmission channel between the transmitting antennas and the receiving antennas is estimated. The method of the aforementioned type involves at least one iteration for improving an estimation of the received signal according to the received signal and involves a preceding estimation of said received signal, comprising the following steps: filtering this received signal; determining an interference affecting the received signal while furnishing an estimated interference; subtracting this estimated interference form the filtered signal whereby obtaining an improved signal; equalizing this improved signal and furnishing an equalized signal, and; estimating, from this equalized signal, the emitted data signal, called the estimated signal.

  • Patent number: 7920638
Abstract: An embodiment of the invention relates to a method for sending a signal formed by successive vectors each comprising N symbols to be sent, and implementing at least two transmitter antennas. A distinct sub-matrix is associated with each of said antennas, said sub-matrices being obtained by subdivision of a unitary square matrix, and each of said antennas sends sub-vectors, obtained by subdivision of said vectors, respectively multiplied by said sub-matrices so as to form, as seen from a receiver, a single combined signal representing the multiplication of said vectors by said unitary matrix.

  • Patent number: 7489748
Abstract: A method for the reception of a data signal which, before being sent, has undergone a linear precoding by means of a unitary preceding matrix, and a channel coding, comprises at least one iteration to improve an estimation of the received signal, as a function of the received signal and of a preceding estimation of the received signal. This iteration comprises the following steps: the estimation of the interference due especially to the linear precoding and affecting the received signal, as a function of the preceding estimation, so as to obtain an estimated interference; the subtraction of the estimated interference from the preliminarily filtered and de-precoded received signal, so as to obtain an improved signal; the equalization of the improved signal, delivering an equalized signal; the estimation of the received signal, delivering an estimation of the received signal.

  • Patent number: 7469015
Abstract: The invention lies within the field of wireless communications systems with several transmitting antennas, corresponding to MIMO (Multiple Input Multiple Output) systems or to MISO (Multiple Input Single Output) systems. According to the invention, the symbols to be transmitted are pre-encoded with a particular linear pre-encoding matrix then coded according to space-time block coding so as to benefit to the full from temporal and spatial diversities allowing at reception for particularly easy and efficient linear decoding.
