  • Patent number: 6812806
Abstract: A high power switchable power combiner includes a plurality of input ports and a plurality of matching elements. The matching elements are arranged to be used in combination when more than two of the input ports are connected. A thermally conductive dielectric member may be provided between the inner conductor of the combiner and the conductive housing thereof to provide a thermal path to dissipate heat from the center conductor.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: January 15, 2003
Date of Patent: November 2, 2004
    Assignee: L-3 Communications
    Inventors: Vincent Leikus, Chuck Bryant

  • Patent number: 5724014
Abstract: A latching electromagnetic RF switch is provided with an armature having a permanent magnet mounted thereon. An electromagnetic coil surrounding the armature has a ferromagnetic member mounted opposite the armature. A spring holds the permanent magnet away from the ferromagnetic member, latching the switch in a first position. In a second position, the permanent magnet attracts the ferromagnetic member and holds the armature against the force of the spring latching the switch.

  • Patent number: 5699030
Abstract: An electromagnetic relay, such as an electromechanical RF switch, which is operated by an electromagnetic coil, is provided with an indicating circuit which responds to the position of the electromagnetic armature as well as the application of driving current to the coil. A magnetically activated reed switch is mounted adjacent to the electromagnetic coil at a distance selected so that the magnetic field of the coil will operate the reed switch when current is applied to the coil and the armature is driven into a position closing a magnetic circle.

  • Patent number: 5652558
Abstract: A double pole, double throw electromechanical RF switch is configured to enable the same switch mechanical arrangement to accommodate various applications, including make-before-break or break-before-make switch operations and latching or fail-safe switching. By simple interchange of the two armatures provided, the operation of the same mechanical switch can be changed.
