  • Patent number: 5882155
Abstract: The present invention comprises a ceiling tile cutting apparatus for the cutting and edging of successive tiles with corresponding angular cuts in a corresponding manner. The apparatus comprises a plurality of vertically arranged support legs connected by a plurality of horizontal members and a planar table member of generally rectilinear configuration attached at the upper end of the support legs. The table member has a first or proximal edge, a second or distal edge parallel to the first edge, a left hand edge and a right hand edge generally parallel to the left edge. An elongated slot extends through the table member parallel to the right hand edge of the table. A pair of guide rails supported over the elongated slot, and a motorized cutting tool mechanism is arranged to slide on the guide rails, with a cutting tool extending into the slot. An adjustable telescopable ruler is pivotably arranged on the table.

  • Patent number: 5622463
Abstract: The present invention comprises a ceiling tile cutting table which can be supported at a slight angle onto the side of a scaffold. The table includes a pair of support rails on one side of the table. The support rails slidingly support a rotatively empowered cutting tool which has a cutting bit extending therebetween. The table may be removed from the scaffold and attached to a set of wheels to permit the table to be mobile while also carrying tiles on the wheel's cross-arm bars therebeneath.

  • Patent number: 4896703
Abstract: A device for twisting a conventional J-shaped wire preform into a hangwire has a rotatable hook by which the closed end of a preform is held and a wall spaced therefrom has an upwardly opening slot in alignment with the hook axis and overlying a ledge. The slot is spaced from the hook a distance such that both arms of the preform can be entered and then held against turning by a hold down arm. The hook is rotated by a gear train provided with a crank with the gear train providing mechanical advantage to the user and enabling the length of the crank arm to be less than the distance between its axis and the base of the device. The hold down arm has a first inoperative position in which it depends vertically, its position when the device is shipped or stored, and a second position for use during hangwire production in which position the arm is held upwardly but tilted away from the slot.

  • Patent number: 4477972
Abstract: A tool, primarily for use in stripping asphalt and wood shingles from a roof, has a flat base plate the front edge of which is provided with a transverse series of teeth and which includes a rearwardly and upwardly extending portion providing a transverse fulcrum. A handle is anchored to the handle and includes a portion spanning the fulcrum zones and anchored to the base plate adjacent the teeth. The handle defines with the base plate an included angle such and the length of which and the shape of which is such that the user can readily force the base plate under a group of shingles and pry them, together with nails, from the roof easily and safely while working from a nearly erect, comfortable position whether the shingles are to be stripped starting from the top of the roof, the eaves, or working from side-to-side of the roof.
