  • Publication number: 20150147082
Abstract: An improved laser print cartridge having a reduced defect rate. The improved laser print cartridge includes a printing assembly, a primary cleaning assembly, and a paper cleaning assembly. The printing assembly includes a drum, a primary charge roller, and a toner roller for applying toner to printer paper. The primary cleaning assembly includes a wiper blade for removing large debris particles from the drum into a large particle receiving volume. The paper cleaning assembly provides a wicking flange for removing smaller particles of debris not removed by the wiper blade. As such, the wicking flange is positioned in between the wiper blade and the primary charge roller and is mounted to the wiper blade. A cleaning portion of the wicking flange is pressed against the drum and either absorbs the debris or wipes the debris into a small particle receiving volume delineated by the drum, wicking flange, and wiper blade.

  • Publication number: 20150147098
Abstract: An improved printer cartridge is provided with a barrier for reducing pressure on printing assembly components in an extended yield cartridge. A printing assembly, including cartridge casing, magnetic developer roller, and hopper, is provided for use with laser printers. A barrier formed by a base and a wall is positioned within the cartridge casing, between the magnetic developer roller and a feed section of the hopper. The wall of the barrier is tangent to the magnetic developer roller, minimizing the area of the magnetic developer roller which is exposed to a medium stored within the hopper and feed section, such as toner. Since exposed surface area is reduce, the amount of pressure on the magnetic developer roller is correspondingly reduced, allowing for an increase in lifespan for the magnetic roller and interactive components, primarily a doctor blade and sealing blade.

  • Publication number: 20140314442
Abstract: A method for remanufacturing toner cartridges includes the use of a plurality of machine screw inserts. Each of a plurality of screw holes of a toner cartridge shell is tapped to create new threading within the plurality of screw holes. The plurality of machine screw inserts is positioned into the plurality of screw holes in order to reinforce the plurality of screw holes, wherein each of the plurality of machine screw inserts has a threaded outer surface and a threaded inner surface. The plurality of machine screw inserts provides a durable interface with a plurality of screws that reduces the chance of failure of the plurality of screws as the plurality of screws is positioned within the plurality of screw holes. An adhesive is applied to each of the plurality of machine screw inserts in order to secure the plurality of machine screw inserts within the plurality of screw holes.

  • Publication number: 20140051613
Abstract: A lubricant coating for laser printer wiper blades is a solution applied to a laser printer wiper blade before install that reduces friction between the wiper blade and the photoconductor drum of a laser printer in order to reduce wear, prevent damage and increase life of the wiper blade and photoconductor drum. A leveling and wetting agent ensures uniform application and reduces coating defects. An anti-wear agent reduces friction and acts as an electrical insulator. A friction reducing agent also reduces friction and acts as an electrical insulator. An evaporation promoting agent aids in evaporation of unnecessary material after application to a wiper blade. A coating enhancing agent increases the hardness of the coating and provides assistance in adherence of the solution to the wiper blade. Deionized water acts as a carrier. The solution is mixed in a high shear mixture.
