  • Patent number: 9221185
Abstract: A shaving razor with a handle and a housing mounted to the handle. The housing has a proximal end portion, a distal end portion, and at least one blade having a cutting edge. The blade is mounted to the housing with a blade support structure. A guard is at the distal end portion of the housing and has a plurality of projections substantially perpendicular to the blade that define a plurality of slots. A washout cavity beneath the blade is defined by an inner surface of the guard and an inner surface of the blade support structure. The washout cavity has an open area of at least 80 percent for allowing unobstructed passage of water substantially along an entire length of the blade.

  • Patent number: 8448339
Abstract: A shaving cartridge with a housing, a cap, and a guard. The guard has an upper surface. The cap has a top surface, a front edge, and an arcuate surface connecting the top surface and the front edge. A first blade between the cap and the guard has a cutting edge nearest the cap. A second blade between the cap and the guard has a cutting edge nearest the guard. The first and second blades define a blade plane tangent to the cutting edges. The blade plane is positioned below both (i) the surface of the guard and (ii) an intersection point of the front edge and the top surface of the cap.

  • Patent number: 8413334
Abstract: A shaving cartridge with a housing, at least one blade mounted to the housing, and a guard having a plurality of spaced apart projections with an upper surface. The projections define a plurality of open slots extending transverse to the blade. The open slots have a lower surface extending between the plurality of projections. The open slots have a slot depth between the lower surface and the upper surface of about 0.10 mm to about 0.5 mm.

  • Patent number: 8286354
Abstract: A shaving blade unit having a housing with a top surface, a bottom surface, a front edge, a rear edge and a pair of side edges extending between the front edge and the rear edge. The housing has a pair of apertures between the front edge and the rear edge. The pair of apertures extend through the housing from the top surface to the bottom surface. One or more shaving blades are disposed between the front edge and the rear edge. The one or more shaving blades each have a cutting edge. A clip has a pair of legs that extend through the pair of apertures. Each leg is bent about at least a portion of the bottom surface of the housing securing the clip to the housing and retaining the blades on the housing.

  • Publication number: 20110203124
Abstract: A shaving cartridge-cover assembly having a housing with a guard, a cap, a rear wall with at least one retention member, a front wall, and a pair of side walls. At least one blade is mounted to the housing between the guard and the cap. A protective cover has a top wall, a front wall and a rear wall that define a pair of opposing open ends. The housing has a dimension between the retention member and the front wall that is greater than an inner width of the open ends of the protective cover such that sliding one of the side walls of the housing into at least one of the open ends deflects the front and rear walls of the protective cover to facilitate mounting of the protective cover over the housing.

  • Publication number: 20110088269
Abstract: A wet shaving razor is provided having a handle, an interconnect member and a cartridge having at least one blade for shaving. The handle has a distal gripping portion and a proximal end portion defining an open area there through. The proximal end portion of the handle has an undercut section. The interconnect member is mounted to the cartridge and includes a latch with a free end that is releasably engaged to the undercut section of the handle. The button has a distal end portion supported by the proximal end portion of the handle and a proximal end portion supported by the free end of the latch such that actuating the button deflects the free end of the latch and disengages the free end from the undercut section of the handle.
