  • Patent number: 10263081
Abstract: A method for manufacturing a graphite layer on an interstitial carbide layer, includes depositing a metal layer formed by one or more metals on a carbide substrate, the metal layer being able to form an interstitial carbide, the metal layer at least partially covering the carbide substrate; performing a heat treatment during which a temperature higher than the dissociation temperature of the carbide of the carbide substrate is applied; wherein the heat allows a reaction between the metal layer and the carbide substrate to form the interstitial carbide layer as well as a first part of the graphite layer at the surface of the interstitial carbide layer, and, when the metal layer only partially covers the carbide substrate, a formation of a second part of the graphite layer at the surface of the carbide substrate which is not covered with the metal layer.

  • Publication number: 20060148980
Abstract: The present invention concerns a hybrid polymer dispersion comprising a functionalized polyurethane polymer (A) and a functionalised vinyl polymer (B) either as individual particles or as composites particles wherein the polyurethane polymer is prepared in a high boiling point oxygenated coalescing solvent having no functional group reactive with isocyanates and that will remain after water dispersion.

  • Publication number: 20040242763
Abstract: The invention relates to new radiation-curable composition comprising an aqueous dispersion containing an unsaturated polyurethane with repeating units of tetramethylxylylene diisocyanate as the essential diisocyanate compound. The invention also relates to a process for making these dispersions in the absence of solvents. The product and process can meat severe environmental requirements in terms of absence of solvents, absence of amines and absence of irritating materials. The coatings obtained from the dispersions of the invention have all together a good resistance combined with a good cold flexibility. In particular, the coatings are glossy and exhibit a high adhesion, a good chemical resistance to stain, water and solvent and a good mechanical resistance to scratch and abrasion.

  • Patent number: 4138658
Abstract: A seismograph pickup for use at the bottom of the sea, comprises a detector, a frame, detachable ballast, and a sealed and water-tight container mounted on the frame. The container floats for bringing the pickup to the surface when the ballast is detached. The detector is outside the container so that it may be deposited on the sea bed. The detector is connected to the container by means of an electric transmission cable and a mooring cable. The container includes a power source and means for recording signals delivered by the detector. The invention is also concerned with means for supporting the detector on the frame and for unhooking it when the detector is released.
