  • Publication number: 20220363094
Abstract: A tire (10) for a vehicle comprises a radially outermost working layer (41) which comprises at least one undulation (412) in line with a central rib (251) of the tread (2). The undulation (412) is radially on the outside of the points of the working layer (41) in line with the bottom face (243) of the circumferential groove (24) closest to the undulation (412) and has an amplitude of at least 1 mm. The undulation (412) is vertically in line above at least one local reinforcing layer (6) comprising reinforcing elements that are mutually parallel and make with the circumferential direction (XX?) of the tire an angle of which the absolute value is at most equal to 5°.

  • Publication number: 20220176746
Abstract: A tire comprises, in the central part of its crown, at least one undulation (51) with a radial amplitude A of the radially outermost crown layer, circumferential furrows (24) and open grooves (25), some of these grooves being radially on the outside of the undulation (51). At least 50% of these grooves (25) are said to be adapted to the undulation. An open groove adapted to the undulation which it is radially on the outside of is such that the intersection points Ps of the bottom curve Cf of said groove and of the furrows (24) are at a distance from the radially outermost point Pext of said bottom curve Cf by a radial distance d2 at least equal to one third of the radial amplitude (A/3) of the undulation (51) and such that the curve Cf increases radially from the intersection points Ps to the point Pext.

  • Publication number: 20210260925
Abstract: The invention is a tire comprising a crown comprising at least one layer of reinforcing elements. The radially outermost layer comprises at least one undulation (512). The undulations (512) in the radially outermost layer (5) are such that the points of the undulations are radially on the outside of the points of said layer (5) that are vertically beneath the centre of the bottom face (243) of the closest major groove (24) by at least a radial distance of 1.5 mm. The undulations (512) in the radially outermost crown layer make up at least 10% of the radially outer surface (ROS) of said crown layer (5). A rubber compound with a dynamic modulus G*, measured at 40° C. at 10% peak-to-peak strain at 10 Hz, that is at most equal to 3.25 MPa, makes up at least 30% of the rubber compounds vertically above said undulations.

  • Patent number: 10189313
Abstract: Tire comprising a tread (40) extending between an outboard axial edge (45) and an inboard axial edge (46), over a width L, in which the tread comprises at least 4 circumferential ribs (411-414) separated by grooves (421-423), in which the circumferential rib (411) adjacent to the outboard axial edge of the tread extends from the outboard axial edge over a width of at least 0.6·L and comprises a portion (411a) with a width of at least 0.1·L made from a first rubber composition and an axially adjacent second portion (411b) made from a second rubber composition, the first rubber composition having values for the elastic modulus at 300% deformation, the Shore A hardness and the complex modulus G* at 60° C. which are respectively comprised between 1.1 and 2.1 times, 0.95 times and 1.20 times, and 1.00 times and 2.10 times the corresponding values of the second rubber composition.
