  • Publication number: 20080216807
Abstract: A fall-away archery arrow rest includes a pair of spaced arrow gripping launcher arms, at least portions of which may be constructed from an elastically deformable material, such as PTFE (TEFLON trademark), plastic, or spring steel such that the arms flex apart slightly upon insertion of an arrow. The launcher arms are mounted upon a rotatable launcher head biased by a spring to move the launcher arms forwardly and downwardly upon release of an arrow supported between the launcher arms. The launcher arms may include juxtaposed notch portions to engage an arrow shaft in a centered alignment between the arms. The launcher arms may include crossed portions, a V-shaped configuration, or substantially straight arms disposed in a generally parallel relation. The arrow rest includes a mounting block system which allows independent vertical and lateral adjustment of the launcher arm position within the bow window.

  • Patent number: 6814068
Abstract: An arrow support device for holding an arrow with respect to a bow in a ready-to-draw-and-fire position. The arrow shaft is supported by an arrow rest that may be deflected downwardly against a bias. The arrow support device also includes an upper arm adapted to hold the arrow shaft against the arrow rest. The arrow rest is interconnected to the upper arm such that when the arrow rest is deflected downwardly, the upper arm concurrently automatically moves upwardly, whereby any potential contact of the arrow shaft or arrow vanes with the upper arm is minimized or eliminated.

  • Patent number: 6684871
Abstract: A push-away arrow rest for use with a compound bow includes an arrow launcher assembly biased to an upward arrow support position. A push rod assembly is biased away from the arrow launcher assembly and is adapted to push the arrow launcher assembly downward out of the way of an arrow and its fletching after the arrow is drawn and released from the bow. The push rod assembly is struck by the tuning cables which in turn strikes a rotator lever connected to the arrow launcher assembly which pushes the arrow rest down and out of the way of the arrow and its fletching within micro seconds.

  • Patent number: 6637419
Abstract: A spring loaded capsule that accepts a rotatable shaft upon which a launcher arm or other type of arrow support mechanism is mounted. The capsule includes a spring for exerting a biasing force against the rotatable shaft and includes a mechanism for limiting the rotation of the shaft in response to the spring bias. The capsule may be used interchangeably with a variety of similarly sized shafts and a variety of launcher arms.

  • Patent number: 6615813
Abstract: A fall away arrow rest in which the launcher arm normally extends upwardly and forwardly in the arrow window and is adapted to fall immediately downwardly under spring bias upon firing the arrow. The arrow rest includes a mechanism for maintaining the launcher arm in the substantially upward position during substantially the entire draw of the arrow.

  • Patent number: 6223644
Abstract: The improved gun has a rapid fire trigger assembly. The gun has a main body and a trigger connected thereto and depending therefrom, with the lower portion of the trigger biased into a forward, non-firing position. The improved rapid fire trigger assembly includes a housing having spaced sidewalls and interconnecting front and rear sides and is adapted to be connected to the gun in front of the trigger. A generally circular elongated tube passes transversely through the housing sidewalls and into the central space in the housing. The tube is rotatable relative to the housing and has a central portion within the housing, which central portion has a number of spaced radiating spokes extending outwardly therefrom. The tube also has opposite end portions extending lateral of the housing sidewalls, one of which end portions has a crank with a trigger finger-receiving space therein. The crank is adjacent the external surface of the sidewall.

  • Patent number: 6178959
Abstract: An adjustable arrow rest includes an elongated mounting plate provided with a plurality of apertures to facilitate securement of the mounting plate to a bow. The arrow rest also includes a slide block having vertical and horizontal leg portions provided with independently adjustable lead screw mechanisms which allow the precision adjustment of arrow rest launcher arms in vertical and horizontal directions. A substantially vertically extending guide rib disposed adjacent one end of the mounting plate engages a complementary guide channel on the vertical leg portions of the slide block, mounting the slide block for selective reciprocal linear adjustment in a substantially vertical direction relative to the mounting plate.

  • Patent number: 5857930
Abstract: The improved hunting arrow point includes an elongated preferably generally frusto-conical aerodynamic main body defining a central longitudinal slot extending from near the rear end of the body to the front end thereof and a front tip releasably secured over the front end of the main body. The tip has a rearwardly extending pin which fits into the slot and supports the front end of the main body. At least two flat cutting blades are rotatably secured at their rear ends in the rear portion of the slot for rotation between a collapsed forward position abutting the front tip and an operative cutting position wherein they extend outwardly and rearwardly of the slot for cutting the flesh of an animal pierced by the point. The blades bear integral detents which releasably secure the blades in the collapsed position. The blades have laterally extending front pusher tips which facilitate opening of the blades to the cutting position when an animal is pierced by the point.

  • Patent number: 5649522
Abstract: The adjustable combination pulley and cam wheel device is used on the compound archery bow of the present invention. The wheel device includes a circular disc-shaped round wheel which has an elongated slot extending transversly therethrough from one side to the other and intersecting the transverse center axis of the wheel. Supplemental slots may also be provided. A pair of brackets releasably secure an axle sleeve to the wheel through the slot in any desired location, so that it can be used as a simple pulley or cam. A transverse axle is secured to the upper bow limb through the axle sleeve. The wheel has a pair of spaced peripheral string grooves, in one of which is trained the upper end of a bowstring and in the other of which is trained the upper end of a return string.

  • Patent number: 5613484
Abstract: The improved assembly includes an archery bow to which a connector and stabilizer sub-assembly are releasably secured. The sub-assembly features a connector having inner and outer concentric tubular sleeves with a spring therebetween biasing the outer sleeve toward an annular rim at the end of the inner sleeve which is adjacent to the stabilizer. Spaced bearings are disposed in an annular array in openings in the inner sleeve adjacent the end towards which the outer sleeve is biased. When the outer sleeve is retracted against the spring bias, the bearings can be moved into pockets defined in the outer sleeve by a nut on the free end of a bolt extending from one end of the stabilizer into the inner sleeve so that the nut can move past the bearings.

  • Patent number: 5505187
Abstract: The archery bowstring release device includes a hollow housing having a front end and opposite rear end. A pair of openable bowstring-engaging jaws is hinged to the front end of the housing. A trigger projects from the side of the housing and is moveable between a relaxed forward non-firing position and a rearward firing position against the biasing action of a spring. An elongated drive bar is connected to the trigger and intercepts the jaws to hold them closed when the trigger is in the non-firing position. A propelor bar is hinged for longitudinal rotation in a slot in the drive bar and extends rearwardly thereof. A spring in the housing bears against the rear portion of the propellor bar when the trigger is in the forward position and against the front portion of the propellor bar when the trigger is in the firing position. A moveable detent intercepts the propellor bar, preventing firing, if the trigger is moved rapidly rearwardly.
