  • Publication number: 20090320211
Abstract: An inflatable bed assembly having a plurality of inflatable cushion cells disposed on the top of the inflatable bed. Each cushion cell has a vent fluidly interconnecting the interior volume of the cushion cell with a main air chamber of the bed. When the bed is inflated, the cushion cells inflate and form raised projections on the top of the bed. The cushion cells provide a pressure sensitive surface which molds to the user's body for increased comfort. The vents are sized to allow the cushion cells to inflate upon inflation of the main air chamber, partially deflate when pressure is applied, and re-inflate when the pressure is removed. The size of the vents dampens the rate that air passes through the vent. The controlled inflation and deflation of the cells softens the impact caused by application of a body thereon and simulates the dampened response of “memory-foam”.

  • Publication number: 20090294443
Abstract: A liquid enclosure has an automatic air bleeding valve that selectively forms a fluid pathway connecting a liquid holding chamber to an ambient environment for bleeding air from the liquid holding chamber. The valve is in a first stage when a liquid in the liquid holding chamber is below a first predetermined level, and the fluid pathway is open and a one-way valve is interposed in the fluid pathway. The valve is in a second stage when the liquid is between the first predetermined level and a second predetermined level, and the fluid pathway is open and circumvents the one-way valve. The valve is in a third stage when the liquid is above the second predetermined level, and the fluid pathway is closed.

  • Publication number: 20090123301
Abstract: A manual hand crank pump has a housing with an inlet and an outlet and has a gearbox with an input and an output and a rotation speed of the output is greater than 50 or 100 times a rotation speed of said input. A hand crank connected to and operable to drive said input of said gearbox and a fan is within the housing and is connected to the output of the gearbox and is operable to pump air from the inlet to the outlet. The gearbox has a gear train with first and second single gears and first, second, third and forth composite gears, each composite gear having a small gear and a large gear coaxial with said small gear which provide an aggregate gear ration of more than 1:50 or more than 1:100. The hank crank pivots between a stored position and an operating position.

  • Publication number: 20090070941
Abstract: An inflatable bed assembly having an inflexible cover that has one or more inflatable body support enclosures to receive one or more inflatable mattresses in a fully or nearly fully deflated state through a slit. Each mattress has a valve which is aligned with valve openings of the inflatable body support enclosures allowing them to be inflated while they are within the cover. The cover has internal dimensions that is less than or substantially equal to the corresponding external dimensions of the maximally inflated mattresses to restrict the inflatable mattresses from expanding. The bed is enhanced by inserting padding in a removable mattress padding enclosure attached to the top of the first inflatable body support enclosure.

  • Publication number: 20080226476
Abstract: A portable air pump has a fan, a main body with a cavity, an air inlet and outlet, a motor connected to the fan, a removable rechargeable battery pack, and a plurality of individual dry cell batteries. The cavity has an opening for alternately receiving one of the battery pack and the plurality of individual dry cell batteries. A door has a closed position, which closes the opening of the cavity, and has an open position for permitting the alternate installation and removal of the battery pack and plurality of dry cell batteries. A first electric circuit is formed when the battery pack is inserted into the cavity and the door is in the closed position, and a second electric electrical circuit is formed when the plurality of individual dry cells are inserted into the cavity and the door is in the closed position permitting the air pump to be powered by the battery pack, or, during removal and recharging of the battery pack, by the dry cell batteries.

  • Patent number: 7353555
Abstract: An inflatable mattress assembly having a peripheral frame disposed around an upper periphery of the mattress forming an upper tubular periphery that provides a contiguous support surface. The peripheral frame is secured along two seams so that it is flat, smooth, and immovable. The seam where the peripheral frame is connected to the side layer creates a circumferential, horizontal indentation or groove giving the mattress an appearance that mimics a traditional two-layered pillow-top mattress. The components of the inflatable mattress assembly are in fluid communication with each other.

  • Patent number: 7127762
Abstract: An inflatable product has a socket disposed in a wall of an inflatable body and extending into an interior of the inflatable body. A pump is slidably disposed in the socket, and is slidable from a retracted position to an extended position. The retracted position defines an insertion limit of the pump into the socket, and the extended position defines a withdrawal limit of the pump from the socket. The pump is operable to inflate the inflatable body when in the extended position. The pump includes a power source connected to a fan, operable to inflate the inflatable body. The pump includes a switch operable to activate the fan when in a closed position. The switch is in an the closed position when the pump is in the extended position, and in an open position when the pump is in the retracted position. The pump includes an air intake in fluid communication with ambient air when the pump is in the extended position, and the air intake is sealed from the ambient air when the pump is in the retracted position.
