  • Patent number: 6894804
Abstract: A method and system are provided for formatting documents for printing in a selected format and resolution upon determination that the software program generating the print job is incapable of creating a document in the selected layout and at the selected resolution. The process of formatting the document involves causing the software program to generate a print job at a resolution lower than that selected by the user. Images of pages generated by the software program are then formed and printed at a higher resolution, such that the images formed on the printed pages are resized to fit multiple images on one printed page.

  • Publication number: 20050068558
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a method and system for automatically and continuously updating a printer driver configuration. A first computer program residing on a controller, which acts to monitor the printer configuration, is activated. The printer configuration is read from the controller configuration and updates the DEVMODE data. The detection of a change in any attribute of the printer configuration causes a second program to activate. DEVMODE data is updated using a data layout described in an XML file. The data layout in the XML file will be packaged with the controller during building, as well as available on a CD-ROM, other portable device, or stored on a central location and accessed over a computer network for the updating printer drivers on the controller when new versions are released. The second program retrieves current printer configuration data using SNMP communications and writes this data to the registry.

  • Publication number: 20040203946
Abstract: A calling method using a short message transmission on a calendar group is utilized to send a coded calendar in a man machine interface of a mobile device from this mobile device to another mobile device through a short message transmission. A short message is decoded by using a same decoding method used for the transmitter mobile device to transfer into a corresponding calendar state in the receiver mobile device after it receives the short message in order to inform a meeting participant or a group member a meeting appointment, meeting time or other messages. And, a function such as an alarm time prompting can be set for a receiver side to mention the receiver through a same manner. Therefore, not only calendar-receiving mobility can be increased, but also expenses can be saved because informing meeting participants by telephone is unnecessary if the method according to the present invention is used.

  • Publication number: 20040192262
Abstract: A processing method for automatically recording caller's message in a cellular telephone is mainly used to answer a telephone call automatically when a cellular telephone user is busy. The method chooses a proper host welcome message to answer the caller to let him understand why the user cannot answer the telephone call by himself and ask the caller to leave a message in the telephone through a situation modes established by the user. The user can record automatic answering speech beforehand in a situation mode establishment item and establish processing modes after answering the telephone automatically. Thereby, the caller can understand why a phone call is refused to answer and the user can save a telephone fee.

  • Publication number: 20040133857
Abstract: An image processing apparatus comprising a controller, a scanner coupled to the controller, an external video port coupled to the controller, and an external video monitor coupled to the video port. The controller comprising a component object module for communicating between the controller and a user interface to be displayed on the external video monitor. When an image is scanned by the scanner, a scanned image is created, the scanned image is stored by the controller and the component object module causes the scanned image to be displayed on the external monitor. The component object interface receives input from the external monitor and communicates the input to the controller. The scanned image is previewed on one portion of the external monitor while commands may be simultaneously received at another portion of the external monitor.

  • Publication number: 20040130744
Abstract: A web based universal printing system that enables printing of documents without having the software application that was used to create the document on a client, or without the client being physically connected to the printer. The client using hypertext transfer protocol connects to a web page, selects a printer and finishing options associated with the selected printer, and then sends a document in its native format to a print server. The print server having the printer driver for the selected printer, converts the document to a print file and then sends the print file to the selected printer for printing. A jobs log database coupled to the print server logs system events and provides accounting capabilities. A job queue manager monitors the printer and print job and can report the status of the printer or the print job to the client.

  • Publication number: 20040130746
Abstract: A method for an online Web Server to process print requests for a remote printing. The request is sent by a client using the Internet Printing Protocol to the Server. The server then parses the request and determines the destination for the print job. The print job is then routed to the destination. If the destination printer does not support the Internet Printing Protocol, then the Server converts the print job to a format compatible with the destination printer and sends the job to the printer.

  • Publication number: 20040012813
Abstract: Printing architecture for direct printing of an imaged document in a print controller. Document image data is generated representative of document information of an input document. A conversion module is called to format the document image data into a second data, which second data includes the document information of the input document. The second data is enqueued for output, and output as an output document at the highest output speed of the print controller.

  • Publication number: 20030236940
Abstract: A Method for repeatedly recording a program in a flash memory is utilized to record a revised application program into a planned flash memory after the program is edited. The flash memory comprises a fixed program zone used to store never-revised fixed programs, an application program zone used to store revisable application programs and a callback function entrance point zone used to store an entrance point matrix. The starting address values of all callback functions in the application zone called by the fixed programs are stored in the entrance point zone. Therefore, only the program codes of the callback entrance point zone and the application program zone parts need to be recorded when the flash memory is recorded. Consequently, recording efficiency can be upgraded and program maintenance time can be reduced.

  • Publication number: 20030223088
Abstract: Architecture for providing tab printing for a computer platform. A text data stream is generated and transmitted from the computer platform to a print controller, which text data steam includes tab information. The text data stream is parsed at the print controller to extract the tab information. A tab image file of the tab information is created from the tab information at the print controller. A face file is created from the tab image file, ad forwarded to a peripheral output device, where the peripheral output device processes the face file to output a tab document having the tab information.
