  • Publication number: 20070086986
Abstract: A process for encapsulating and immobilising mammalian stem cells, ovarian follicular cells, gametes, ovarian follicles or mammalian embryos which are able to auto-organise into three-dimensional structures in vitro, and express biological functions in a manner similar to that which is observed in the organism in vivo is described. The capsules are constituted by: a nucleus containing stem cells, ovarian follicular cells, gametes ovarian follicles or mammalian embryos and/or a biocompatible and/or biodegradable polymer; a semi-permeable membrane constituted by a divalent or trivalent metal ion salt of alginic acid, optionally cross-linked on the inner and/or outer surface and/or on both surfaces, optionally vehicularising a second or more cellular species.

  • Patent number: 5160050
Abstract: This invention pertains to a modular apparatus used for the orderly display, in particular, of advertising fliers accompanying videocassettes, videocassettes themselves, or like materials. Said apparatus possesses multiple flag-boxes (1, 50, 60) for housing at least one pair of fliers, or at least one videocassette, and the like, with said flag-boxes being made of sturdy transparent material and mounted in such a way as to swing along one of their edges (2, 52) like a flag on a support stand (13, 30). The two opposite faces of a flag-box (1, 50, 60) are securely interconnected, along at most three edges (2, 3, 9; 52, 59), but are separated from one another in such a way as to form a housing space, into or from which the pairs of fliers (4), the videocassette (VC), or like materials are inserted or removed through the open edges (5, 53, 55).

  • Patent number: 4956603
Abstract: A method for measuring the lifetime of P.N. semiconductor junctions which includes subjecting one side of the junction to monochromatic radiation of a pre-established intensity and measuring the voltage Vp generated by the photovoltaic effect at the ends of the junction in order to calculate the lifetime .tau. because of a correlation between .tau. and Vp which can be expressed by means of a function .tau.(Vp) that takes into account the data relating to the measuring conditions and the structural parameters of the junction.

  • Patent number: 4432583
Abstract: A power seat track apparatus for selectively positioning an automotive vehicle seat. The apparatus is adapted to be powered by electric motor drive, preferably with separate motors for each drive direction. The seat back is mounted on the upper track of the seat track mechanism for horizontal drive with the track. The vertical drive through front and back torsion tubes or bars act on only the seat pan and seat cushion but not the seat back. Since the vehicle shock loading requirements must be met by the structural seat pan or seat frame, the pan for holding only the seat cushion may be reduced in size as compared to the usual power seat frame. The back cushion seat mounting is designed to withstand shock loading by its mounting on the upper seat track separate from the seat pan and cushion elevating mechanism.
