Abstract: A computer-implemented method for managing the display of items to which consumers may respond, which comprises the following: determining a first display position for an item based at least in part on a reputation associated with a profile to which the item belongs; causing the item to be displayed at the first display position; and during a lifetime of the item, adjusting the reputation associated with the profile to which the item belongs based on an aggregated consumer response with respect to the item, adjusting the display position of the item to a second display position based at least in part on the adjusted reputation associated with the profile, and causing the item to be displayed at the second display position.
