  • Publication number: 20230401166
Abstract: Embodiments of the disclosure provide for detecting and avoiding conflicts with a device on a communications bus. According to one embodiment, avoiding redundant or conflicting communications can comprise listening to electronic messages exchanged on the communications bus and detecting a second device a second device communicating on the communications bus based on the electronic messages exchanged on the communication bus. The electronic messages can comprise requests for data and responses to the requests for data. For example, the communications bus can comprise a Controller Area Network (CAN) bus within a vehicle and the first device and the second device can comprise On-Board Diagnostic (OBD) II devices. Detecting the second device communicating on the communications bus can comprise detecting an address used by the second device.

  • Patent number: 9100100
Abstract: Various disclosed embodiments include methods and systems for operating a wireless electronic device having one or more antennas. The method comprises monitoring at least one parameter of a signal received from a remote transmitter. The method includes determining that the at least one parameter meets a first threshold and performing, at the wireless electronic device, a probing operation. The probing operation includes performing an antenna switching operation. The probing operation includes generating first signal information of the received signal prior to the antenna switching operation and generating second signal information of the received signal subsequent to the antenna switching operation. The probing operation includes determining whether the antenna switching operation achieves a desired gain based at least in part on the generated first and second signal information. The probing operation includes reversing the antenna switching operation in response to the desired gain not being achieved.

  • Publication number: 20020061506
Abstract: Systems and methods for delivering a training course whose content is independent of the delivery technology and whose content is deliverable in future delivery technologies without significantly rewriting or recoding the training course. For a training course, an XML version of the content of the training course is generated. The XML version of the content can be accessed through a content module which provides an interface to a viewer that corresponds to a selected delivery technology. The same content can be provided through different delivery technologies by using the appropriate viewer. This preserves the viability and life of the content because it is easily adapted to different delivery technologies. A graphic treatment for the content is also independent and separately changeable. Also, a instruction strategy for determining how to present the content is provided.

  • Patent number: 6372245
Abstract: A controlled release medicament delivery system comprises a plasticized bioerodible polymer, such as a polyorthoester. Medicament desirably is entrapped in the plasticized polymer. The resulting delivery system is able to release the medicament in a controlled and sustained manner. The formulation is particularly advantageous for use as a once-a-day eyedrop. During preparation, the polymer may be heated to an elevated temperature for a sufficient time to substantially reduce its molecular weight.
