  • Patent number: 11706088
Abstract: A system incorporated in a slice-based network can implement a first virtual infrastructure manager (“VIM”) at a first region. The first VIM can be associated with a first internet protocol (“IP”) prefix range, and configured to receive a second IP prefix range associated with a second region having a second VIM. For compliance with requirements from a software license agreement (“SLA”), the first VIM can monitor a performance of a first virtual network function (“VNF”) of a network slice. In the event of a performance threshold violation, the first VIM can map portions of a workload associated with the violated threshold to the first region and the second region based on respective workload flow data associated with each of the first and second IP prefix ranges. The first VIM can instantiate a second VNF in the region having a workload portion that corresponds to a higher network resource consumption.

  • Patent number: 11588675
Abstract: Examples of the present disclosure can include a method. The method may include (1) identifying, by a virtual infrastructure manager (“VIM”), a virtual network function (“VNF”) descriptor from information obtained from the integrated network, (2) selectively generating at least one container on the physical network based on the VNF descriptor, (3) determining, by the VIM, an integrated network requirement based on state information associated with the integrated network, (4) providing, by the VIM, to a container management platform, the integrated network requirement, and (5) causing a VNF to be generated in the container to fulfill the integrated network requirement. Corresponding systems, non-transitory computer-readable media, and methods are also disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20220239583
Abstract: Examples of the present disclosure can include a method. The method may include (1) obtaining, by an network function virtualization orchestrator (“NFVO”), path computation information from the integrated network, the integrated network including a virtual source and a virtual destination, (2) generating, using the path computation information, segments identifying portions of a virtual network path originating at the virtual source and terminating at the virtual destination, (3) generating, by a virtual infrastructure manager (“VIM”), a plurality of labels associated with physical links on the physical network corresponding to the identified portions of the virtual network path, and (4) determining, by the NFVO and using the plurality of labels, a network path for data transfer over the integrated network, the network path identifying virtual and physical network elements.
