The apparatus determines, based on the one or more prosodic values, one or more speech synthesis markup language (SSML) tags. The apparatus then generates, based on the prosodic values, SSML-tagged data comprising each determined SSML tag and that tag's location in the plurality of text.

Abstract: A method includes obtaining acoustic event information from at least one device, the acoustic event information associated with a first activity, at least a portion of the acoustic event information associated with sounds originating from a plurality of individuals in an identified group during a time period of the first activity. The method also includes categorizing the acoustic event information into a plurality of sound classes. The method also includes performing collaborative filtering on the plurality of sound classes. The method also includes determining one or more interests of the plurality of individuals in the identified group based on results of the collaborative filtering. The method also includes recommending a common activity for the identified group, based in part on the one or more interests of the plurality of individuals in the identified group.

Abstract: A method and apparatus are provided for determining a Transmission Power Control (TPC) command of an UpLink (UL) channel in a User Equipment (UE). The method includes storing TPC commands received through each Radio Link (RL) for preset combining periods, before entry into Discontinuous Transmission (DTX); combining the stored TPC commands; if all of the TPC commands are UP commands, determining a combined TPC command of the UL channel as a power level derived using a TPC command received in a designated previous DownLink (DL) slot among DL slots included in each RL, and controlling a transmit power of the UL channel, in a current DL slot which uplink transmission is resumed, using a power level corresponding to the determined TPC command.

Abstract: Determination of transmission power control commands in a UE by combining TPC commands received during DTX/DRX modes. The combining is done on those TPC commands which are received on different radio links after ignoring TPC commands which might be received in a DL slot overlapping with no UL transmission. The UE thus uses the combined TPC commands as derived at the time of entry into DTX for the second UL DPCCH preamble transmission which leads to increase in link reliability and subsequent conservation of power by the UE. The UE uses the same power as derived in the previous slot for resumption of transmission when all the TPC commands, received in the DL slot overlapping with no UL transmission, are UP. TPC commands for the transmission of the 2nd DPCCH preamble at transmission resumption is determined by combining stored TPC commands from each of the radio links that were received by the UE while entering into DTX gap and said TPC commands could not be applied with the newly received TPC commands.

A camera of the electronic device is configured, based on the one or more parameters. An image based on the profile is captured. Quality of the image is checked against a predefined threshold. Abstract: An automated teller machine (ATM) having a wireless network access apparatus and a method for providing financial services using the ATM are provided. The ATM includes a user interface unit, a first financial processing unit, a first network access unit, a second network access unit, and a second financial service unit. The user interface unit performs data communication with a storage medium on which information is recorded, and outputs information to a user through an output apparatus. The first financial processing unit provides financial services including account inquiry, deposit, and withdrawal, by performing data communication processes with a recognized storage medium. The first network access unit is connected to an ATM network connected to a financial institution server, transmits data obtained as a result of performing financial services, to the financial institution server, and receives processed data from the financial institution server.
