The coating composition comprises an epoxy function polymer, a fully alkylated melamine resin and an amidoamine. The process involves forming a mixture of the film forming components and allowing the mixture to mature before adding an acid catalyst. The result is a layer of the coating composition with a high degree of adhesion to the substrate.
