Publication number: 20200254745Abstract: An improved method of protecting finished surfaces of, for example, automobiles replaces the prior art methods of spraying and hand laying large plastic sheets. In this method a slotted die extrudes a ribbon of a polymeric emulsion onto the surface to be protected under robotic control so as to maintain a constant spacing between die and surface. The die can be moved quickly and with great precision. The applied film is cured and, at a later time, is peeled from the surface.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 24, 2020Publication date: August 13, 2020Inventors: Michael DeFillipi, Vipin Patel

Patent number: 10696033Abstract: An applicator die for creating undivided ribbons of polymeric film and a method of using the die to apply an emulsified polymeric material in ribbons to a fully or partially finished surface of an automobile body. In one application, the ribbon is applied as a peelable film to an automobile body and in another application, a ribbon is applied to a rocker panel as an anti-chip coating. For both applications, the applicator die has an internal gallery and an outlet slot with flared edge surfaces to emit a laminarized ribbon of polymer-based material at a distance from the target surface where the opposite edges of the ribbon have become essentially parallel.Type: GrantFiled: March 2, 2018Date of Patent: June 30, 2020Assignee: EXEL INDUSTRIESInventors: Michael DeFillipi, Vipin Patel

Patent number: 9760504Abstract: Keys are generated at a memory device with a period of time elapsing between generation of each key. A request is received from a memory controller for the most recently generated key. The memory device communicates the first key to the memory controller. Access to nonvolatile memory on the memory device is locked. An unlock command with a second key is received from the memory controller. The memory device determines that the second key matches the first key and unlocks access to the nonvolatile memory in response.Type: GrantFiled: September 29, 2015Date of Patent: September 12, 2017Assignee: International Business Machines CorporationInventors: Diyanesh B. Publication number: 20050286103Abstract: An in-tank fuel supply unit is provided for supplying fuel from a fuel tank to an engine. The fuel supply unit generally comprises a fuel delivery module and a jet pump assembly selectively attachable to the fuel delivery module. The fuel delivery module has a housing defining a reservoir and includes a fuel pump for pressurizing fuel in the reservoir. The jet pump assembly has a suction tube defining a suction chamber and a nozzle situated inside the suction chamber. The nozzle receives pressurized fuel from the fuel pump and sprays the fuel from a nozzle tip at high velocity to draw additional fuel into the suction chamber through an inlet formed in the suction tube.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 24, 2004Publication date: December 29, 2005Inventors: DeQuan Yu, David Zultowski, Vipin Patel, Jason Schultz, Matthew Wiethoff
