  • Patent number: 10833938
Abstract: A method for network function (NF) topology synchronization includes, at a network node including at least one processor, maintaining NF instance identifiers and corresponding NF profile version identifiers in an NF topology database local to the network node, the NF profile version identifiers indicating most current NF profile versions stored by the network node for each NF instance identifier. The method further includes obtaining a list of NF instance identifiers and NF profile version identifiers from an NF repository function (NRF), accessing the NF topology database, determining, by comparing the NF profile version identifiers in the list with NF profile version identifiers for corresponding NF instance identifiers in the NF topology database, whether the NF profiles stored by the network node are lagging behind the NF profiles stored by the NRF, and auditing or refraining from auditing the NRF for updated NF profiles based on results of the comparison.

  • Patent number: 10764652
Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer readable media can be operable to facilitate the detection and management of a filler region during trickplay of a content stream. A filler region at the edge of a targeted advertisement segment may be detected based on the presence of one or more consecutive I-frames. When a filler region is detected during a trickplay operation, a corrective method may be applied during trickplay of the filler region. The corrective method may include a modification of a frame skip count (FSC) and/or frame repeat count (FRC) during trickplay of the filler region, or may include skipping over the processing and output of filler frames during trickplay of the filler region. In embodiments, an index file may be modified to include an indication of a designation of one or more frames as either a filler frame or non-filler frame.

  • Publication number: 20200251401
Abstract: Carbon nanotube (CNT) forests or sheets coated and/or bonded at room temperature with one or more coatings were measured to produce thermal resistances that are on par with conventional metallic solders. These results were achieved by reducing the high contact resistance at CNT tips and/or sidewalls, which has encumbered the development of high-performance thermal interface materials based on CNTs. Resistances as low as 4.9±0.3 mm2-K/W were achieved for the entire polymer-coated CNT interface structure.

  • Patent number: 10724153
Abstract: Nano structured surfaces and bulk composite materials which exhibit tunable surface morphology, wettability, thermal conductivity, and total thermal resistance properties, and methods of fabrication and uses thereof are described herein. Arrays of vertically-aligned nanostructures produced via a template assisted fabrication approach using nanoporous templates, or alternatively, via an electropolymerization process are described. As a result, control over the surface morphology and wettability can be achieved using the selective template etching process. The composite materials also demonstrate tunable thermal and electrical properties based on the methods of their fabrication. The arrays of polymeric nanostructures are chemically, mechanically, and thermally robust and can serve as soft substrates with heat dissipation capability for use in the fabrication of thermal management materials, tunable wetting for microfluidic applications, and for use in heterojunction organic photovoltaic cells.

  • Publication number: 20200227631
Abstract: Arrays containing carbon nanostructure-oxide-metal diodes, such as carbon nanotube (CNT)-oxide-metal diodes and methods of making and using thereof are described herein. In some embodiments, the arrays contain vertically aligned carbon nanostructures, such as multiwall carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) coated with a conformal coating of a dielectric layer, such as a metal oxide. The tips of the carbon nanostructures are coated with a low work function metal, such as a calcium or aluminum to form a nanostructure-oxide-metal interface at the tips. The arrays can be used as rectenna at frequencies up to about 40 petahertz because of their intrinsically low capacitance. The arrays described herein produce high asymmetry and non-linearity at low turn on voltages down to 0.3 V and large current densities up to about 7,800 mA/cm2 and a rectification ratio of at least about 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, 45, 50, 55, or 60.

  • Publication number: 20200196010
Abstract: The customer premises equipment apparatus includes a communication component, a determining component and a filtering component. The communication component pulls a first chunk of headend guide data from a headend guide data provider using HTTP streaming. The first chunk of headend guide data contains a plurality of frames, some of which may be filler frames. The determining component determines whether at least one of the frames within the first chunk of headend guide data includes filler frames. The filtering component removes the frames that correspond to filler frames.

  • Patent number: 10490226
Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer readable media described herein may facilitate the detection and use of stitch points during trickplay navigation of a content stream. A multimedia device may automatically detect stitch points in a transport stream based upon PTS (presentation time stamp) discontinuities. The multimedia device may generate a slot table that organizes the frames of a piece of content into segments having sequential or linear PTS values. The multimedia device may compare a target PTS to the various PTS ranges of the slot table to identify a region to be searched for a metadata index associated with the target PTS. Once the target PTS is mapped to the appropriate metadata index, the multimedia device may fetch the appropriate frame for presentation.

  • Patent number: 10491948
Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer readable media can be operable to facilitate a transfer of one or more buffer chunks including an I-Frame. When a new play or media transition occurs, a transfer of buffer chunks from a buffer to a decoder may be initiated such that an I-Frame at the beginning of the buffer is transferred and available to a client for playback. A decoder may be flushed a new transfer of buffer chunks beginning with the first buffer chunk may be initiated when a determination is made that PAT/PMT acquisition is complete and A/V play has started. A first buffer chunk may be repetitively transferred from the buffer until a determination is made that PAT/PMT acquisition is complete and A/V play has started.

  • Patent number: 10210901
Abstract: Methods, systems and computer readable media may facilitate the repositioning of content based upon scene boundaries. In embodiments, content may be automatically repositioned at a scene boundary, so that the content presentation starts from a more meaningful and sensible point after a re-position (e.g., time-shift, trickplay, seek, etc.). Also provided herein is an approach to provide an option for the user to start playback of content from an absolute time based repositioned point or a scene based repositioned point. Scene change detection may be used to detect scene changes within a piece of multimedia content as the content is being received, played, or recorded by a device. Scene changes within a piece of content may be identified using scene meta-data created on a per content basis, wherein the meta-data includes the starting frame offset of each scene along with the duration of the scene.
