    Abstract: Ore bearing small particles of precious metal which forms an amalgam with mercury is passed in a water-ore pulp first over a positively charged conductive surface to neutralize particles of organic matter and then over amalgamating plates, flouring of mercury on the amalgamating plates being inhibited by the discharge of organic particles in the pulp.
