  • Patent number: 4409692
Abstract: A garbage-disposal scraper-protector for use with a garbage disposal unit under a sink. A disk fits loosely in a lower portion of the drain opening of the sink and provides a plurality of narrow openings enabling water to flow at all times from the sink into the garbage disposal unit. A stem extends up from the top of the disk and a handle cross-member extends horizontally across the upper end of the stem. The cross-member is long enough to bridge the drain opening and prevent the disk from dropping below the drain opening. A short, flexible scraper is secured to and extends down from the bottom of the disk a distance only slightly below the drain opening and well above the operating portions of the garbage disposal unit. The entire scraper-protector is preferably a single integral molded member of plastic.

  • Patent number: 4273299
Abstract: A holder for a paper towel roll or toilet paper roll. A stationary base member has an annular flat rim surrounding a central frustoconical projection. A rotatable member also has an annular flat rim surrounding a central hollow frustoconical projection that nests around the projection of the base member and is rotatable with respect thereto. The facing flat surfaces of the rim and the facing surfaces of the projections enable relative rotation with some resistance, to provide braking action. The outer surface of the frustoconical projection of the rotatable member includes, as integral parts thereof, a series of yieldable projections for firmly nonrotatably engaging the hollow core of a paper towel roll or toilet paper roll. The base member is secured horizontally, so that the rotatable member stands up vertically and holds the paper roll vertically.

  • Patent number: 4235389
Abstract: A holder for paper towels and the like. A standard extends from the side of a flat base and is integral therewith. A major portion of the standard comprises four radially outwardly-extending strips extending out at ninety-degree intervals from a common center, the outer edges of all strips tapering together outwardly from a widest portion at the base. A minor portion distant from the base comprises an extension of each of the four strips, with them separated from each other at the center by a gradually increasing amount. The strips can be forced in toward the center with springy resilience tending to restore them to a normal outward position. Each strip terminates at an out-turned finial.
