Publication number: 20160220497Abstract: The invention relates to a method for the therapeutic treatment of keratinous substrate, mucous membrane or tooth comprising preparing a composition containing water, at least one therapeutically active ingredient, an organopolysiloxane X having at least two silicon-bonded alkenyl groups per molecule, a hydrosilylation catalyst and an organohydrogensiloxane compound Y having at least two silicon bonded hydrogen atoms per molecule. At least one of compound X or Y is enclosed within microcapsules suspended in an aqueous phase, and the composition is applied in a galenic form preferably chosen from spray, foam, brush, pen or roller so that a hydrosilylation reaction between compounds X and Y occurs to form a film on the keratinous substrate, mucous membrane or tooth. The invention further extends to a delivery system and to a film comprising a cured silicone.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 17, 2013Publication date: August 4, 2016Inventors: Virginie Caprasse, Andre Colas, Fabrizio Galeone, Arnaud Labrosse, Leon Marteaux, Anke Sieg, Xavier Thomas

Patent number: 8968773Abstract: The invention provides: a cross-linkable therapeutic composition comprising a) a saccharide-siloxane copolymer; b) a crosslinking agent; c) one or more active/inactive ingredients; and d) optionally, a solvent, or solvent mixture, wherein the saccharide-siloxane copolymer has the following formula: R2aR1(3-a)SiO—[(SiR2R1O)m-(SiR12O)n]y-SiR1(3-a)R2a that is further formulaically defined and wherein the saccharide-siloxane copolymer is a reaction product of a functionalized organosiloxane polymer and at least one hydroxy-functional saccharide such that the organosiloxane component is covalently linked via a linking group to the saccharide component; films; and methods related thereto. The composition has therapeutic properties. The invention also provides articles of manufacture including topical and transdermal agent delivery patches comprising the novel film-forming composition and/or films.Type: GrantFiled: May 23, 2007Date of Patent: March 3, 2015Assignee: Dow Corning CorporationInventors: Xavier Thomas, Virginie Caprasse, Eric Jude Joffre, Csilla Kollar, David Clayton Gantner, Victor A. Publication number: 20130287856Abstract: An active agent delivery dispersion includes water, 1 to 98 weight percent of a plurality of encapsulated particles dispersed in the water, and 0.1 to 20 weight percent of an active agent, each based on a total weight of the dispersion. The active agent is dispersed in the water independently from the plurality of encapsulated particles. Each of the particles includes a core and a layer including a silica disposed about the core. The plurality includes first and second populations of encapsulated particles. The core of the first population includes a first organopolysiloxane having at least two silicon-bonded alkenyl groups per molecule and a hydro-silylation catalyst. The core of the second population includes an organohydrogensiloxane having an average of greater than two silicon bonded hydrogen atoms per molecule and a second organopolysiloxane having at least two silicon-bonded alkenyl groups per molecule.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 27, 2011Publication date: October 31, 2013Inventors: Virginie Caprasse, Fabrizio S. Galeone, Leon Andre Marteaux, Anke Sieg, Xavier Jean-Paul Thomas

Publication number: 20100143421Abstract: A process for the production of water-containing silicone rubber device comprising the steps of mixing an external phase comprising an organopolysiloxane polymer having at least two reactive groups per molecule, a water in oil emulsifier and where required one or more active ingredients and/or optional additives; with an internal phase comprising water and optionally one or more active ingredients to form an emulsion; and subsequently introducing a cure package comprising a cure package comprising a suitable catalyst, which will be determined by the cure reaction between the polymer and where required a cross-linker, and which contains more than two reactive groups, designed to react with the reactive groups in the polymer in the presence of said catalyst in order to cure the external phase of the composition, thereby entrapping the water within the body of said water-containing silicone rubber device.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 10, 2007Publication date: June 10, 2010Inventors: Isabelle Van Reeth, Virginie Caprasse, Xavier Thomas, Jean-Paul Lecomte, Benedicte Courel, Esternia Schirosi
