  • Patent number: 11270593
Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for optimization of an aircraft flight trajectory with shortcuts. The method comprises retrieving an active flight plan stored in a flight management system (FMS) and identifying a potential shortcut with a shortcut advisor tool. The FMS monitors the location of the aircraft with respect to an identified start point of the potential shortcut. Prior to the aircraft's arrival at the identified start point, current key performance indicators (KPI) of the shortcut are evaluated with the shortcut advisor tool. The aircrew is alerted to the potential shortcut along with a preview of the performance of the aircraft upon accepting the potential shortcut. The aircrew may accept the addition of the potential shortcut to the flight plan and request approval of the shortcut by air traffic control (ATC). The active flight plan is updated with the shortcut upon approval from the ATC.

  • Publication number: 20200349854
Abstract: Disclosed are systems, methods, and non-transitory computer-readable medium for automatic flight re-dispatch evaluation. For example, a system may include a dispatch flight tracker application with a flight management engine service to automatically evaluate one or more flight re-dispatch points by calculating an estimated amount of fuel remaining onboard an aircraft at the one or more flight re-dispatch points using fuel data of the aircraft and flight planning parameters.

  • Publication number: 20180336505
Abstract: A method is provided for calculating an actual cost index (CI) for aircraft operations. A preliminary CI is generated for an aircraft based on in-flight data parameters. An actual CI is calculated by identifying unavoidable deviations from the flight plan and discounting the deviations from the preliminary CI. Also, an expected CI for the flight plan of the aircraft is generated based on the book performance data of the aircraft provided by the original equipment manufacturer (OEM). The actual CI is then compared with the expected CI with any differences between the two indices reported in a post flight compliance report.
