  • Patent number: 10242278
Abstract: A device and a corresponding method for skin detection to enable a reliable, accurate and fast detection are disclosed. The proposed device comprises an illumination unit configured to project a predetermined illumination pattern onto a scene, an imaging unit configured to acquire an image of the scene, and an evaluation unit configured to evaluate the acquired image by analyzing the imaged illumination pattern as reproduced in the image and to detect skin areas within the image and distinguish them from non-skin areas within the image based on said analysis.

  • Publication number: 20070236383
Abstract: Weather radar reflectivity data is compressed by converting radar data to image pixels. Next, contours are traced from select groupings of the pixels. Control points are derived from the contours. The control points represent a compressed version of the radar data and may be used to recreate and fill the contours with predefined colors or effects for purposes of visually depicting weather phenomena.

  • Publication number: 20070164899
Abstract: An angular scan interval may be divided into one or more sweep sectors for display. Polar (r, ?) coordinates may be calculated for rectangular (x, y) coordinates at each pixel of a display interval by computing polar (r, ?) coordinates in an interval of 0 to ?/4 and by applying mapping equation sets. Bounds of a block of polar radar (R, ?) coordinates that map to a given (x, y) coordinate may be computed. A mechanism to associate the bounds of the block in polar radar (R, ?) coordinates and the rectangular (x, y) coordinates may be created. Bounds associated with the x-coordinate in a sweep sector may be calculated. A maximum of the x-coordinate bounds to xmax and a minimum to xmin may be assigned accordingly. Bounds associated with the y-coordinate in the sweep sector may be calculated for each x-coordinate. A maximum of the bounds of the y-coordinate to ymax and a minimum to ymin may be assigned accordingly.

  • Publication number: 20060202886
Abstract: A system and a method to receive radar data from a plurality of radars and to reduce the data from the plurality of radars to a common universal latitude-longitude coordinate frame. The plurality of radars may be positioned at separate geographical locations and may have one or more overlapping regions. The data may be combined in the one or more overlapping regions.

  • Publication number: 20060202884
Abstract: A method and a system to process radar volume scan data along an azimuth angle of a radar, to interpolate the radar volume scan data taken from adjacent elevation angles along the azimuth angle of the radar to obtain radar data corresponding to a predetermined altitude along the azimuth angle, and to display the radar volume scan data obtained corresponding to the predetermined altitude on a PPI display.
