    Abstract: A method for generating an image file includes: receiving, via a web browser, an image file generation request to generate the image file for a folder storing data; generating, by the web browser and in response to receiving the image file generation request, a folder template including metadata of the folder; generating, by the web browser, a shell of the image file using the folder template; fetching, by the web browser and in response to generating the shell, copies of portions of the data stored in the folder and converting the fetched copies into chunks of the image file; and generating, via the web browser and using the folder template, the image file by writing the chunks of the image file into the shell.
