  • Patent number: 11954181
Abstract: A method for managing hardware resources includes obtaining, by a local virtual hardware license manager, a license request from an application instance, in response to the license request: sending a virtual hardware license request to a license management system, wherein the virtual hardware license request comprises a hardware resource list, making a first determination that a response to the virtual hardware license request validates the virtual hardware license request, and in response to the first determination: providing, based on the hardware resource list, a signed hardware resource document to a hardware resource manager managing a hardware resource, wherein the hardware resource list specifies the hardware resource, updating a hardware resource access repository to specify enabled access of the hardware resource by the application instance, and initiating access to the hardware resource by the application instance.

  • Patent number: 10148429
Abstract: A system and method for managing the recovery key of a computer system is disclosed. The computer system includes a security layer, and the recovery key is stored locally to a memory location on the computer system, including, as examples, flash memory on the motherboard of the computer system or a USB port on the computer system. In operation, when it becomes necessary for the computer system to authenticate the recovery key, the recovery key may be retrieved from the local memory. The retrieval and storage of the recovery key may be managed by a remote administrator. The recovery key may be stored in a hidden partition in the storage location, and the recovery key may be cryptographically wrapped to add an additional layer of security.

  • Patent number: 8070389
Abstract: The present disclosure provides an improved method and system for loading a topsides onto an offshore structure by functional modules. A module support frame forms a supporting structure to which production modules can be assembled. The production modules are adapted to extract or process hydrocarbons from a hydrocarbon well in an offshore location. One production module is a well bay production module to which other production modules can be coupled, including a drilling support production module, separation production module, export module, and utility module. The module support frame can be loaded onto floating barges and other modules assembled thereto to allow the barges to provide incremental and controlled support during the loading process and for the floatover installation. The barges can be floated out to the offshore structure and loaded onto the offshore structure by methods including a floatover method or with a heavy-lift crane vessel.
