Abstract: Systems and methods provide isolated workspaces operating on an IHS (Information Handling System) with use of pre-boot resources of the IHS that are not directly accessible by the workspaces. Upon notification of a workspace initialization, a segregated variable space, such as a segregated memory utilized by a UEFI (Unified Extensible Firmware Interface) of the IHS, is specified for use by the workspace. The segregated variable space is initialized and populated with pre-boot variables, such as UEFI variables, that are allowed for configuration by the workspace. Upon a workspace issuing a request to configure a pre-boot variable, the segregated variable space is identified that was mapped for use by the workspace. The requested pre-boot variable configuration is allowed based on whether the pre-boot variable is populated in the segregated variable space. When the requested pre-boot variable configuration is allowed, the pre-boot variable is configured on behalf of the workspace.

Abstract: A system, method, and computer-readable medium for performing a traffic routing operation. The traffic routing operation includes: establishing a plurality of virtual private network (VPN) connections within an information handling system; obtaining a configuration policy for each of the plurality of VPN connections, the configuration policy for each of the plurality of VPN connections comprising an indication of at least one type of supported link of a plurality of links; configuring a plurality of queues for packets being communicated via the plurality of virtual private network connections, the plurality of queues being greater than the plurality of VPN connections; creating a tunnel indication for each of the plurality of VPN connections; mapping the tunnel indication for each of the plurality of VP connections to a respective queue of the plurality of queues; and, mapping each queue of the plurality of queues to a link of a particular VPN connection.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for management of processor thread used in support of workspaces operating on an IHS (Information Handling System), where the workspaces operate in isolation from the operating system of the IHS. A remote workspace orchestration service manages deployment of workspaces on the IHS. The workspaces are instantiated and operate according to a workspace definition provided by the workspace orchestration service. A remote access controller of the IHS determine one or more processor threads of the IHS used in support of the workspaces. The remote access controller monitors memory utilization by the processor threads used in support of the workspaces in order to detect memory thrashing resulting from the operation of a particular workspace. Based on the monitored memory utilization, the processor threads used in support of the workspaces are modified in order to reduce memory thrashing during the operation of the workspaces.

Abstract: Systems and methods support workspaces operating on an Information Handling System (IHS), where the workspaces utilize virtualization to operate in isolation from a portion of the hardware and software of the IHS. Resources of the IHS that are available for use by workspaces are registered with an orchestration service that is remote from the IHS and that manages deployment of workspaces on the IHS. A workspace is instantiated on the IHS according to a workspace definition provided by the orchestration service. The orchestration service also provides a handle that allows the workspace to access a particular resource of the IHS, where the handle includes an interface supported by an embedded controller of the IHS for providing access to the IHS resource. The workspace invokes the IHS resource using an interface provided in the handle. The handle thus provides a communication mechanism for workspaces to utilize local resources of the IHS.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for consolidation of IHS (Information Handling System) authentication resources utilized by workspaces operating on the IHS, where the workspaces operate in isolation from the operating system of the IHS. A remote workspace orchestration service manages deployment of workspaces on the IHS. The workspaces are instantiated and operate according to a workspace definition provided by the workspace orchestration service. An embedded controller of the IHS registers authentication functions of the IHS with the workspace orchestration service, which notifies the workspaces of the consolidated authentication functions. An authentication agent is instantiated that supports operating system authentications for applications operating within the workspaces. The respective workspace definitions of the workspaces are updated to route credential requests to the authentication agent.

Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for managing flow state of a user of an information handling system that may include receiving, by a rules engine of the information handling system, contextual input associated with the user, the contextual input captured by one or more monitoring devices of the information handling system; determining, based on the contextual input, a user intent associated with the user, the user intent indicating whether the user intends to be in the flow state or in a distracted state; identifying, based on the user intent, that the user intends to be in the flow state; and in response to identifying that the user intends to be in the flow state: causing a flow management event to occur, the flow management even causing the user to be in the flow state.

Abstract: A system, method, and computer-readable medium are disclosed for auditory adaptive wellness. A user's sensitivity to noise and frequency is calibrated. Thresholds are set for three use cases of dosage fatigue, background cumulative frequency and general frequency fatigue. Audio cumulation rates of peripherals for is determined for the three use cases. Cumulative dosage exposure (CDE), cumulative background exposure (CBE) and cumulative frequency exposure (CFE) are calculated. Warnings and recommendations are provided when CDE exceeds the threshold for dosage fatigue, CBE exceeds the threshold for background cumulative frequency fatigue, and CFE exceeds the threshold for general frequency fatigue.

Abstract: Embodiments of systems and methods for managing performance optimization of applications executed by an Information Handling System (IHS) are described. In an illustrative, non-limiting embodiment, a method may include: identifying, by an IHS, a first application; assigning a first score to the first application based upon: (i) a user's presence state, (ii) a foreground or background application state, (iii) a power adaptor state, and (iv) a hardware utilization state, detected during execution of the first application; identifying, by the IHS, a second application; assigning a second score to the second application based upon: (i) another user's presence state, (ii) another foreground or background application state, (iii) another power adaptor state, and (iv) another hardware utilization state, detected during execution of the second application; and prioritizing performance optimization of the first application over the second application in response to the first score being greater than the second score.

Workspaces are thus unable to interface with hardware coupled to the IHS, including peripheral devices coupled to the IHS. In embodiments, workspace issue request for use of a remote operation supported by a peripheral device. A handle is then provided for invoking the remote operation supported by the peripheral device and for providing the workspace with exclusive use of the peripheral device for the duration of a validity of the handle. One the handle is used to invoke the remote operation supported by the peripheral device, the workspace is provided with output from the remote operation conducted during exclusive use of the peripheral device by the workspace.
