  • Patent number: 11915340
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method, a computer program with instructions, and a device for generating a display of an augmented reality head-up display for a motor vehicle. In a first step, a position of the motor vehicle is determined. A plurality of virtual elements for a navigation hint is then provided on the basis of the position of the motor vehicle. The virtual elements, as seen from the motor vehicle, extend on both sides in a lateral direction to outside a field of view of the augmented reality head-up display. Finally, at least that virtual element which has the shortest distance to a center of the field of view is rendered.

  • Patent number: 11904688
Abstract: Technologies and techniques for calculating an overlay of additional information for a display on a display unit. The overlay of additional information may support the driver in the longitudinal control of a vehicle. The overlaying of the additional information may be configured in the form of augmented reality such that it is calculated in a contact analogue manner in relation to one or more objects in the environment of the vehicle. When approaching a vehicle, a spatially extended animation graphic is calculated, wherein the animation graphic has a grid shape consisting of a plurality of grid elements, which extends from the observer vehicle up to the oncoming or preceding vehicle. The spatial extension is calculated such that the driver of the observer vehicle (10) has the impression of a kinematic or dynamic movement of the spatial extension, such as translation and rotation.

  • Patent number: 11845463
Abstract: The disclosure relates to a device for the improved visualization of a notice in a motor vehicle. A contact-analog head-up display places information in direct contact with the environment. In contrast to conventional head-up displays, the information appears as part of the environment. Some embodiments provide an information container that is placed at a distance x from the vehicle which grows corresponding to the reduction of the distance x, and is placed fixed relative to the environment to produce the effect of a container located in reality. The necessity of an interaction may be communicated by the element remaining stationary. That is, shortly before the position of the information container is reached, it remains immobile in the field of vision and is “pushed” in front of the ego vehicle. This makes it immediately apparent that an operation is needed to acknowledge the pop-up respectively to thereby trigger an action.

  • Patent number: 11731509
Abstract: A method for displaying a trajectory course in front of a transportation vehicle or object. The trajectory course is shown on a display unit and is represented in grid format. The points of the grid are represented by symbols, wherein only the border thereof or the completely filled-in symbols are represented based on the environmental features. The size and/or color of the symbols is adjustable.

  • Publication number: 20220348080
Abstract: Controlling a display of an augmented reality head-up display for a motor vehicle. The content to be displayed by the augmented reality head-up display may be initially analyzed. In so doing, there can optionally be a prioritization of the content to be displayed. Subsequently, a position of an eyebox of the augmented reality head-up display is adapted on the basis of the content to be displayed.

  • Publication number: 20220105805
Abstract: A head-up display and methods for providing a lane-related visual assistance function with a head-up display for a motor vehicle. Information is obtained regarding a driving lane currently travelled on by a motor vehicle. A characteristic value is obtained, which describes an uncertainty regarding the lane-related display of a virtual object serving as a visual assistance function with the head-up display. At least one virtual object is displayed as a visual assistance function, wherein the object is displayed such that it runs along at least a portion of the lane from the perspective of the driver, wherein a length of the object along the lane is defined according to the magnitude of the characteristic value.

  • Publication number: 20220072957
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for depicting at least one virtual element in a display area of at least one display element of a vehicle. The method for depicting a virtual element allows the depth perception of virtual elements in the display area of a display apparatus to be improved. The method may be realized in that the virtual element is constructed of at least one first virtual subelement and one second virtual subelement, wherein the first virtual subelement is arranged in perspective in the display area in front of the second subelement.

  • Publication number: 20220074753
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for depicting a virtual element in a display area of at least one display apparatus of a vehicle. Virtual elements that lie outside of the display area of a display apparatus are perceptible by the driver with a certain estimation of distance, or respectively direction, in that a driver of the vehicle is signaled when the determined three-dimensional coordinates of the at least one virtual element lie outside of the display area of the display apparatus.

  • Patent number: 11049320
Abstract: A method, a device and a computer-readable storage medium with instructions for controlling a display of an augmented reality head-up display device for a motor vehicle as well as an augmented reality head-up display device for a motor vehicle. In a first step, the position for a representation of a virtual object in front of the motor vehicle is determined (20). The virtual object is then superimposed (21), corresponding to the determined position, onto a projection surface by an imaging unit. To increase the subjective perception of the registration quality on the part of the observer, the virtual object is designed to this effect to be fault-tolerant with regard to registration errors.

  • Patent number: 10891791
Abstract: A method for the recognition and visual display of system uncertainty in the representation of augmented image contents in heads-up displays which provides that AR image contents are adapted through a change of representation so that the inaccuracies of representation that are present are not perceived as errors by the observer. A characteristic value is determined that quantifies the system uncertainty in the representation of the AR image contents. An adaptation of the representation takes place on the heads-up display depending on this characteristic value. Also disclosed is a device by which the method is carried out.
