    Abstract: A method of increasing the available capacity of an active above ground and/or incised landfill is disclosed that involves dynamically compacting successive layers of deposited refuse. This method increases the available volume of the landfill up to about 20 percent without damaging the liner system that protects the surrounding soil base and ground water.
