  • Patent number: 6971168
Abstract: A method of manufacturing a compressor valve plate (36) comprises at least the following steps in succession: blanking of a blank of the plate (36) from a steel sheet of suitable thickness, punching holes corresponding to the output and intake openings, the hole corresponding to the output opening being a preliminary hole (48a) having a diameter larger than the final diameter of this opening (48), forming, by coining, a depression (42) for housing an output valve-closure blade (54), with the depth of the depression increasing towards the end of the depression which corresponds to the preliminary hole (48a), in a manner such that, during the coining, at least some of the material of the blank creeps towards the preliminary hole, partially filling it, calibrating the output opening (48) to the final diameter by punching, and coining an annular projection (50) around the calibrated output opening (48) to define a valve seat for the output closure blade.

  • Patent number: 6276260
Abstract: A gudgeon pin (14) is held in engagement with a bearing seat situated inside a piston (16) by retaining means in the form of a pincer element (30) with a base portion (32) fixed to the end wall (20) of the piston (16) and with two pairs of resilient jaws (38) arranged on either side of the small end (12) of the connecting rod (10) and shaped so as to grasp the gudgeon pin (14) and hold it in the scat by a snap-coupling.

  • Patent number: 6095768
Abstract: A motor-driven compressor unit (12) suspended in a hermetic housing (10) comprises a casing (24) which encloses the stator (16) of the electric motor externally and to which the stator is fixed. The casing (24) carries and is fixed firmly to a block (36) of the compressor and further comprises a transverse wall (28) situated at the opposite end to the block. The block (36) and the transverse wall (28) have respective annular seats (56, 60) concentric with the axis of rotation of the crankshaft (46). The annular seat (56) in the block (36) contains a main self-aligning bearing (86) and the annular seat (60) in the transverse wall (28) of the casing (24) contains a secondary self-aligning bearing (64).

  • Patent number: 6036454
Abstract: A motor-driven compressor comprises a drive shaft driven by an electric actuator and acting on a crank mechanism having a crank with which a connecting rod is associated eccentrically, the connecting rod supporting a piston movable in a corresponding cylinder. The cylinder has a longitudinal axis W inclined to the axis X of the drive shaft at an angle other than 90 n degrees so that the connecting rod supporting the piston has a longitudinal axis K which intersects the plane in which the crank lies.

  • Patent number: 5403170
Abstract: A preferably hermetic motor-compressor unit comprises a usual drive shaft operated by a known electric motor and acting on a compressor section (1) for a fluid, for example a refrigerant fluid, comprising a piston (3) associated with a connecting rod (2) operated by the said shaft, said piston (3) moving within the bore (23) of a corresponding cylinder (4) in which it compresses said fluid. With the connecting rod (2) there are associated means (11) arranged to engage with counter-means (13) associated with the piston (3) so as to connect this latter to the connecting rod (2), retention means (20) being provided to maintain the engagement between said means and counter-means.

  • Patent number: 4700090
Abstract: A motor-compressor unit comprises a motor including a magnetizable stator; an armature oscillatable about the motor shaft axis; two coils arranged opposite each other on the stator; and a magnetizable core extending between the coils. The stator has opposed sections spaced from each other and arranged to define air gaps between such stator sections and the core at the end faces of the coils remote from each other, such air gaps being concentric about the motor shaft axis. A permanent magnet is disposed between each stator section and the core, a pole of each magnet facing the core. A plurality of pole elements is associated with the armature and is arranged such that oscillation of the armature causes one pole element to move into its respective air gap and another pole element to move out of its respective air gap.
