Abstract: A portable jerrican-like container having a casing suitable to be palletized by engagement into other casings particularly adapted for transporting liquids or powders.Said container is provided with a supporting handle on its upper face and is in the form of a parallelepiped in which the length is multiple of the width; the upper and lower faces are provided with perfectly matching projections and cavities which allow a mutual engagement between superimposed containers, even when they are turned through 90.degree.. The handle itself is part of said projections.

Abstract: An automatic machine for packing products of parallelepiped shape including a magazine for the boxes and a magazine for the lids. A line is provided for infeeding parallelepiped shaped products. A pusher is positioned to transfer the products from the infeed line exit to the central area of a box. A presser which acts on the product is arranged to push downwards the box and products a distance corresponding to the height of the products. Support locators which, with the step-by-step downward motion brought about by the presser, are fixed and cause the front and rear sections of the box to be folded upwards. A line is provided for moving forward the boxes, after their flaps are closed by the mounted fixed locators. A number of opposed rollers are arranged at the sides at the infeed line exit, for pressing the lateral sections against the flaps in order to permit them to be glued.

Abstract: The apparatus comprises a ream conveyor, two chains means for driving the chains such that those portions thereof which are adjacent the conveyor outlet end are moving upwards from below. Means are provided to guide the packing web material. Locking members are provided to selectively retain the packing web material. A blade or cutting edge is provided for cutting across the web material when the latter is retained by the locking members. Switch members are displaced along the chain path and actuated by elements integral with the chains. The elements are adapted to control the chain drive means in order to stop the chains when a predetermined length of web material has been unwound, then to determine the releasing mode thereof, and to allow the web material stretching along a vertical wall. Pad means are provided for holding the packing web material termination against a vertical wall.

Abstract: Apparatus for transferring and positioning paper reams onto the feed conveyor of paper ream wrapping machines, comprising a lever member hinged at one end and connected with its opposite end to a gripper assembly, a connecting rod member having its ends respectively mounted pivotally to the lever member and to one arm of a crank lever member actuated to impart to the lever member an oscillating movement. A control means is provided for shifting the pivot between the lever member and the crank lever member and the rotation axis of the crank lever member parallel to itself, such as to vary the amplitude of the oscillation angle of the lever member according to the size of the paper reams to be transferred to the conveyor and selectively cause the angle to lead and lag so that the stroke limits of the lever member happen to coincide with the fixed positions respectively of ream pick up and ream release along a predetermined conveyor axis.
