    Abstract: A motor vehicle is provided with a body having a supporting structure of sheet metal and external lateral walls which below a substantially horizontal line extending above the vehicle wheels, comprises exclusively parts of plastics material. As compared with sheet metal parts, the plastics-material parts present a number of advantages including simpler assembly, better corrosion resistance and reduced susceptibility to damage in a minor collision.
