Abstract: A method for protecting against forgery a printed document comprises the step of applying on the document, during the printing thereof, a microcapsule layer. This layer comprises microcapsules including a chemical product adapted to release an indelible mark which reveals tampering on surfaces portions of a document subjected to a pressing or rubbing tampering force.

Abstract: Device for the pressing of sheets during folding, including a first roller (2a) and a second roller (2b) which are positioned opposite each other and have rotation axes (3a, 3b) which are parallel to each other, and first permanent magnets (13a) engaged to the first roller (2a) and second permanent magnets (13b) engaged to the second roller (2b), the first permanent magnets (13a) and the second permanent magnets (13b) having opposite polarities facing each other. The process consists in applying mutual approach forces to the rollers which decrease as the distance between the same rollers increases.

Abstract: The invention claimed is directed to a signature collating system comprising stations (2) which are adapted to deliver signatures (3), as well as a transport (4) adapted to pick up the signatures (3) to form stacks (5), a diverting device (7) located downstream from the stations (2) and adapted to controllably convey the stacks (5) out of the transport (4), a reclaim belt (9a) extending from the diverting device (7), to a position of the transport (4) upstream of the stations (2), a signature (3) withdrawal station (9b) located on the reclaim belt (9a) and comprising a pull-out means (12) adapted to remove signatures (3) from the stacks (5), and a monitoring means (6) adapted to detect anomalies in the delivery of the signatures (3) and the positions of the stacks (5), and adapted to control the activation and deactivation of the stations (2), diverting device (7), and withdrawal station (9b).

Abstract: A machine for folding sheet material comprises a plurality of rollers opposedly arranged in pairs and engaged at the ends with a stationary frame and biased towards each other by pushers. Each roller has a surface provided with resilient lugs and intervening smooth surfaces. Owing to the resilient lugs the rollers are forced to move away from each other, as the sheets move past, only to a limited extent thereby accommodating any uneveness in the sheets.
