  • Patent number: 11276037
Abstract: Systems, apparatuses, services, platforms, and methods are discussed herein that provide user search services to a communication platform. An example user search service receives a query indicted by a user to find users of a communication platform associated with one or more search terms. The example user search service also presents to the user a search result view comprising resultant users on the communication platform, where the search result view includes one or more graphical annotations in association with ones of the resultant users that indicate a quantity of common users on the communication platform between the user and the ones of the resultant users.

  • Patent number: 10366368
Abstract: Systems, apparatuses, services, platforms, and methods are discussed herein that provide user search services to a communication platform. An example user search service receives a user query to find users of the communication platform associated with one or more search terms, performs a graph search process based at least on the one or more search terms to identify a first set of users related to the user through at least one common user, and performs an indexed search process to identify a second set of users associated with the one or more search terms. The user search service then presents to the user a result view comprising the first set of users prioritized over the second set of users.

  • Publication number: 20130275905
Abstract: A data comparison and insight system is described herein that visually facilitates comparison of two or more datasets and shares insights discovered by one user comparing the data with other users. The system receives input data that includes multiple dimensions, such as a matrix of responses to a survey question. A user may want to compare this data, setting two distinct points in one dimension so that the user can see the variation in the other dimension at these two points and compare it. Past systems treat these as two separate datasets and the visualization of these datasets is also done separately. The data comparison and insight system provides several chart types that integrate the data from both datasets and provide a unified visualization of the two or more datasets. This allows the system to present a data comparison visualization that provides a third dimension into the data.

  • Publication number: 20130275904
Abstract: A data visualization system is described herein that provides a user interface, such as for graphs of tabular data, that is more intuitive and faster to interact with than previous solutions. The system allows a user to directly interact with the interface through touch input by rotating, selecting, and viewing supplemental information. The user can perform various manipulations with simple input, such as touching particular choices to turn them on and off, dragging particular choices onto other choices to group the choices, and holding down on a particular group of choices to break apart the group. These types of interactions and the user interface provided by the system allow a user to quickly and efficiently switch between high-level visualization of data and a deeper dive into the underlying data, and to rearrange the data in ways that are meaningful to the user and that assist in consuming the data.

  • Publication number: 20130004933
Abstract: A survey confidence system is described that improves the quality of responses through electronic surveys by scoring participant responses using confidence metrics. The system assigns a score to actions taken by the participant that potentially indicate fraud, falsification, or duplication and uses the score to eliminate responses that do not reach a threshold level of confidence, or to weight such responses lower than other higher confidence responses. The system defines a series of axes that the system combines to form an overall confidence score. Each axis represents a particular domain about which the system can determine and assign some level of confidence. The system can inject questions into a survey that verify information that does not change, seldom changes, often changes, or changes according to a recognized pattern. Thus, the system allows the benefits and reduced cost of electronic surveys while increasing confidence in responses to ensure trustworthy results.

  • Publication number: 20120191774
Abstract: A virtual polling system allows a dial testing style of polling to occur at multiple locations and to include more respondents than a traditional dial test. In one embodiment, the system is implemented using an application component that can be run on multiple mobile or other devices and a server component that collects information from the mobile devices to provide relevant data analysis. The system provides an application that each potential respondent can run on the respondent's device of choice. The application displays a virtual dial, slider, or other user interface control that allows the respondent to indicate positive or negative sentiment, or any other response range designed by the pollster. The respondent can move the slider in real time while watching an event to indicate the respondent's impression of the event. The server component collects response information from each device and performs analysis requested by the pollster.

  • Publication number: 20120173305
Abstract: A mobile survey system is described herein that leverages users' appreciation of paid applications and other rewards to incentivize participation in market research surveys. As a user participates in surveys, the system gives the user points that accumulate in an account associated with the user. The points can subsequently be redeemed for paid mobile applications or other incentive compensation, such as products or services. Most application and content stores provide some ability for one user to give another user an application/content or credit for the same as a gift. The system leverages this mechanism to credit users that elect a particular application or content as a reward with the reward of the user's choice. Thus, the mobile survey system increases participation in mobile surveys by incentivizing users in ways that are highly relevant to sought after categories of users.
