    Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of reworking a composition comprising a substrate and an oxidation and/or nitridation layer on the surface of the substrate by treating the composition under reduced pressure or in an inert gas environment at an elevated temperature until the oxidation and/or nitridation layer is substantially removed from the surface. In this way, manufacturing efficiencies and yields are improved as material that would otherwise have been scrapped is now used.
