Publication number: 20240356253Abstract: Connectors with surface mount vertical tail terminals are described. In one example, a connector includes a housing and a wafer comprising a terminal conductor. The terminal conductor includes a lead contact, a tail contact, and a terminal conductor body extending between the lead contact and the tail contact. According to one aspect of the connector, the wafer and the terminal conductor are arranged vertically in the connector, and the tail contact of the terminal conductor comprises a surface mount tail contact. In other aspects, the terminal conductor includes a side surface, a cut edge surface, and a body bend along the terminal conductor body. The cut edge surface is an edge surface formed from shearing or cutting the terminal conductor out from a lead frame.
